Free replacement for broken PSP or PS3?

Options
Apparently Sony are running an exchange program for faulty PSP and PS3s. Even if it's out of warranty [Edit: May not work if they ask and you remember buying it more than a year ago....], as long as the warranty sticker is intact (you haven't opened the case to fiddle with the insides) and you've got the battery and charger then they'll send out a refurbished one via parcelforce and pick up your dud one to take back. This is all free of charge (less the phone call). It's said this even covers broken screens.
I noticed this while surfing eBay and noticed lots of people selling this info for anywhere between a couple of quid and twenty. After digging around a bit I found this handy info from a concerned eBay member..... http://reviews.ebay.co.uk/PSP-AND-PS3-REPAIR-SCAM-RIP-OFF_W0QQugidZ10000000004878687
Sony's number for this is 08705 998877, or try the cheaper geographic number 01923 653598.

Sony have always been great in my experience for replacing broken ps2/psp. I had an out of warranty ps2 exchanged about 3 years ago and a psp exchanged 2 months ago. Just call them and tell a little white lie about purchase date as they dont ask for proof and you'll have a reconditioned replacement in a few days. The reconditioned ps2 is still working great and has lasted longer than the original
Smile and the whole world smiles with you, laugh and they'll think your on drugs!

Pigsback: £11.92 (claimed £50 vouchers); Quidco: £143.89; Home of Research: £3.50 (£20 claimed); YouGov: £19.50; Valued Opinions: £5.50 (£10 claimed) Toluna: 29,210 pts (120.000 claimed) Ipoints: 2092 pts and loose change elsewhere!

hi just tried this and the man said they charge £55.00 for delivery and labour but they are not making any money from this. he also said it should be within a year warranty too?
  • Hi, I've just tried as well and have been told £65 which includes parts and postage. Never mind - might try again later - It looks like it might depend on who you speak to.
  • Hi, I'm getting reports that it may not work out of warranty after all. I'm hoping to find out if they require actual proof that you didn't buy it more than a year ago.
