well they wernt wrong were they??
thats like goin in primark and gettin a £5 dress and complaining after it lasts u a week, expecting it to be like sum designer garment.
if course u get what u pay for....0 -
luxury != basic that can be argued in court.
example.
argos have a basic mattress for £115
they also have a luxury mattress for £115
I would expect a court to reject an argument that the matresses should be equal quality based on price simply because one is labeled as luxury which means more than necessary whilst basic is as what it says the minimum necessary.
The best advice is from the person saying contact the head office asking about if its standard practice regarding the comment, they are likely to compensate you on that alone.0 -
:rotfl: at some of the debate on here.
I have agreed to swap it for a £200 SilentNight make and also written to complain about the woman on the phone. Hope this new one doesn't turn out to be a bag of luxury spanners!“We all pay for life with death, so everything in between should be free.”0 -

You could always Ebay them if you don't like them:
"LOOK!! Nearly New Luxury Spanners. Suitable for stuffing mattresses.""One day I realised that when you are lying in your grave, it's no good saying, "I was too shy, too frightened."
Because by then you've blown your chances. That's it."0 -
as luxury has no legal definition it is opossible that they found they could add the word to the description by simply assing 1 1/2 inch of padding to the top as opposed to the regulation inch.I Reject your reality and substitute my own.
When life gives you lemons, throw em back and say you want CASH instead!

Cheeky perhaps but true.
A £115 matress is not really going to be any good. Perhaps take up their offer on an exchange and use it to buy a better matress?
with higher prices you expect more features but there are minimum standards that are expected with regards to quality surely?
my old matress was not expensive and i admit not the most comfortable i've ever had (started off ok but did not wear well) and as a consequence i got rid of it after about 4 years, round here matresses are available cheaply from factory shopsthings arent the way they were before, you wouldnt even recognise me anymore- not that you knew me back thenMercilessKiller wrote: »BH is my best mate too, its ok

Erm....because it's Argos. It's what they do......sell crap, cheaply to the masses.
Have you ever seen Elizabeth Duke jewellery before?"One day I realised that when you are lying in your grave, it's no good saying, "I was too shy, too frightened."

Always makes me laugh at how little some people spend on a matress. After all, on average, you only spend a third of your life on it.0

I spent £88 on mine the other week and have no problems with it. But then if I spend 1/3 of my life on it then perhaps thats good? Apparently a good thing I've always heard for a bad back is to sleep on a hard surface. Up until the last few decades there couldn't have been these stupidly priced £1000 mattress's and there didn't seem to be half as many people with back problems then. Maybe all these "luxury" mattress's are part of the problem.0
