Air Source Heat Pumps

There is not a great difference in price between the different sizes, just slightly higher running costs on the larger unit.
We would normally undersize by up to 10%, based on the heat loss calculation, but it is not set in stone!! The pump in those sort of conditions, operates at peak efficiency.
I need to look up a couple of quotes we have given for the AirX, and then give you an idea.As Manuel says in Fawlty Towers: " I Know Nothing"0 -
Ok Great I look forward to your ideas.0

Last quote I had on a 9kw AirX from the middle of last year, was slightly over 8K Euros + VAT. This included the airbox, but no DHW tank.As Manuel says in Fawlty Towers: " I Know Nothing"0

did you glean any info on whether the airbox is necessary to run the system or would it work with out it.
I am waiting on a supply only AIrX 9kW from a french installer.0 -
The airbox is required with the 9kw unit. I will hopefully get you some more info from our design engineer, but it may take a few days, due to the weekend.
I will ask him for all the options. As Manuel says in Fawlty Towers: " I Know Nothing"0 -
OH Great! that would be so helpful in my decision making, someone that knows at last.
I didn't realize you were in Italy. it will be interesting to compare the prices from here once I have the quote from France.0 -
I mainly deal with GSHP units, and we only use IVT or Climatemaster heat pumps.
Most installs here are GSHP due to land availability, albeit, we are seeing a rise in the AirX, due to the good performance figures.
I have had a confirmation that my email to the designer has been read, so as soon as I get an answer I will update you.As Manuel says in Fawlty Towers: " I Know Nothing"0 -
Many Thanks
I am off to my french class now
So I look forward to your response. Bon Weekend.0 -

Now discovered how my system supposedly works. The heating circuit between the heat pump and the fluid control box is heated quite independently of whether any heat is required, and heating is then applied by the control box which is connected directly to the thermostats.
Not sure whether this is because it is a monobloc system or a result of the type of thermostat used.0 -

Still waiting for some more info. Unfortunately I could not make it to Sweden for the AirX presentation.
Will you be installing the unit yourself, or using the supplier? As Manuel says in Fawlty Towers: " I Know Nothing"0
