We have three of these in our yard......ripped out for the same reason.
Really? So not an uncommon fault, then. We've left it switched off for now in fear of what the electricity bill is going to be like. That said, we're going to try to claim the landlord for it and have him claim the company that installed it. It appears never to have been faulty in one way or another since they put it in.
I've got such a horrible feeling it's going to turn into a big tussle between Grant, the plumbers who installed it and the landlord himself with us stuck shivering in the middle.0 -
Although the grant system is, in itself not the worst out of 50 manufacturers, there seems to be a negligence in who Grant allow to fit them, usually untrained plumbers, unlike the likes of Mitsubishi, Daikin, Panasonic etc who only allow there systems to be installed by trained accredited installers, also, Grant just don't have very many technical staff and the controls are far too complicated for the average user.
You must be putting the landlord under pressure to get this resolved. There are three types of people in this world...those that can count ...and those that can't!

Just seeing Baz@rr posts has set alarm bells ringing slightly, I have been taking daily meter readings.
Overall things seem quite good, the house temperature over night has been no lower than 18C (normally 19C) and that's with the thermostat set at 16C so obviously its not working overnight.
Anyway can someone make sense of these?
The first meter reading on 1. was 17374.24- 17375.91 (so in one 24 hour period that should be 1.67 units)
- 17378.07 (2.16 units used)
- 17380.07 (2.63 units)
- 17384.29 (3.59 units)
- 17385.85 (1.56 units)
- 17390.18 (4.33 units)
- 17393.09 (2.91 units)
- 17396.61 (3.52 units)
- 17399.44 (2.83 units)

Albyota, the worrying thing is I hav,e just had a quote to buy a Mitsubishi unit, the company was going to supply all the bit, I could then either fit it my self of get who ever to fit the the company would commission. I know this is still better than sell and ignore but is a bit of a concern.
However went with Danfoss unit local company fitted commissioned it is up and running for about two months and I am very please. Only issue is setting trimmers, Danfoss contacted me yesterday and will sent up new updated software, I think this should have been done before the sale, however it is FOC.
As a point house is 3 years old, 190m2 underfloor heating all through, units used apporx 40 per day last week that's heating lighting and everything else, house warm throughout, and never had log burning stove on.
I am a fan of ASHP, for the right house and heating system, and remember it is not instant heating, like gas so must have a different mind set. I work from home therefore happy heating is on all day
Dull note0 -

40 units a day?
My readings are for everything, I'm not used to reading the meter to be honest, I know you take no notice of the last number but does 2.63 actually mean 26 units and not 2.6? (Excuse the dumb question)0 -

I don't know what meter you have, but your readings in the earlier post don't make any form of sense.
You clearly haven't used only 24 units in 9 days for all electrical consumption in the house - including ASHP.
On the other hand I have never heard of a meter with 7 digits - one of which being the decimal place.
You need to find out what the 3 displays on your meter are for.0 -

Its a small digital meter that displays one number at a time, the numbers above are the Rate 1. setting which I was told is the day time rate (so displayed as No 1 - 17399.44)
Rate 2. is meant to be Econ 7 but we don't have that now as according to E.ON if someone is home all day it makes the day time rate more expensive (so displayed as 2 - 28281.00)
and thirdly there is a set of numbers that doesn't have a display number
( this one displayed as 45680.44)
I have all three sets of numbers on a spreadsheet0 -
Rate 2.
- 28100.16
- 28118.72 (18.56)
- 28137.89 (19.17)
- 28155.85 (17.96)
- 28173.31 (17.46)
- 28196.69 (23.38)
- 28213.47 (16.78)
- 28242.38 (28.91)
- 28264.41 (22.03)
- 28281.00 (16.59)
these are the numbers which do not have a rate- 45474.40
- 45494.63 (20.23)
- 45515.97 (21.34)
- 45536.55 (20.58)
- 45557.57 (21.02)
- 45582.50 (24.93)
- 45603.69 (21.19)
- 45635.47 (31.78)
- 45661.01 (25.54)
- 45680.44 (19.43)

On the gas and electricity forum there are some meter readers contribute; so I have posed a question. ZSee:
