  • Good morning everyone

    ((((hugs)))) to Hilstep and Beemuzed
    Congrats to Aussie

Busy day today. W**k then supermarket then need to drop in to school where I am a Governor to drop off some things that I think might be useful in Nursery. Then school run, then DD's parents night then a Governor's meeting after that (beemuzed and natzini I can sympathise with you ;) ). So, it will be 9pm at the earliest before I get some time to chill.

Made a pie yesterday so we will have the remainder of that for dinner tonight. I froze the rest of the rubber chicken yesterday in a curry sauce (for Friday night) so I can say that one chicken has fed three of us for a whole week. :j Quite pleased with myself.

    Have a thrilling Thursday. xx

    Morning all

Up early today - had to pop into the butchers on the way into work. They're fab - and more importantly open from 7am so I can actually get to them during the week. Although I'm vegetarian and we hardly ever have meat in the house for DH, we have guests coming at the weekend so I'm going to cook a roast loin of pork. I do forget how expensive meat is - I paid £24 for 2.5 kilos of pork loin but it's an almighty chunk of meat so there'll be plenty to go round, as well as leftovers for sandwiches! They are a fabulous butchers, and I came over all 1950's housewife as they asked "anything else we can get for you MrsS?":rotfl: It really does underline that meat is a treat and not a regular foodstuff at those prices.

Keep your eyes peeled for panicked questions from me on Saturday - I've never really cooked meat before ( I was brought up vegetarian) so fingers crossed!

Anyway, best get on. Got weekly group meeting at 9:30:rolleyes:

Hugs to all that need them!

    Morning everyone,
(((((((((((hugs)))))))))))) to all who need them.
i woke at around 630 but don`t seem to have achieved much the place still seems untidy.
I shall be off shortly for a quick shower and then walk the dogs.
I doubt i`ll get much done before i leave for w**k but we can`t do everything every day can we!

For tea tonight we are having good old bacon and eggs with mushrooms and tomatoes, i`m really looking forward to it as we haven`t had this for ages.
I hope to get some baking done later or if not tomorrow.
The sandwich spread i made up yesterday is really scrummy and i`ll make myself a couple of slices of hm bread to take to work.
Seems windy out but not raining though, maybe we will have a brighter day once it gets going a bit.
    Have a good day everyone.

Seraphina That pork seems ever so expensive - £10 a kilo!

I woke up to a garden full of sheep this morning :D:D. They can just go under the electric fence that keeps the cows out. I don't mind though, saves cutting the grass!

Going to work at 12, so will hop in the shower in a minute. OH has gone for a job interview this morning - my word he was in a bad mood when he woke up!

Other than that, nothing is going on here really. It's actually tomorrow we have guests, but thats not a problem.

Dinner will be various bits of pasta from the freezer. Need to pop to Morrisons on the way home and get a pot of double cream for my pasta sauce.

Hope you all have a good day!

    Gooooood Morning, fellow OS’ers :D:D:D

Aussie – congratulations! Hope mother and baby are both doing well.
PenPen – hope your dd has a wonderful trip!
taplady – fingers X’d for the MRI
    ((hilstep and beemuzed))
Hardup Hester – crikey, that is some increase!
Sola – good luck with your BM tomorrow :D As for the decluttering, have you seen this 2008 Declutter Calendar :D
Good luck at the dentist, Cranky
tru – hope dh manages to unwind and de-stress.
Sunnyday – Your tea sounds delicious; can you lay the table for an extra one? :D
Blairweech - good luck for your oh's interview!

Washing machine has been doing some overtime this morning, for some reason a sizeable pile of dirty laundry appeared last night. I thought I was all caught up with it and then *boof* more appears! The BM is on; I’m making dough in it today so we can have a few HM pizza bases in the freezer. Some of it I’ll use for calzones to use up the leftover bolognaise sauce I have and they can be frozen for lunchboxes.

I need to go out to get some card for printing off a couple of designs I’ve put together for some engagement party invites that a friend asked me to design for her. It’s a dangerous mission because I’m a stationery-o-holic and I just know that I’m going to be tempted by more than just card! :o At times like this I think I need some horse’s blinkers!

    B: Wholemeal toast with marmite
    L: Soup
    D:Rainbow trout

Already have the haggis for tomorrows Burns Night (I’m not Scottish, but my grandmother was a Burns :D ) so that’s all sorted and one less thing to think about.

Hope the sleep deprived manage to get a better night’s sleep tonight, nothing worse than having to muddle through when you’re weary.

    Enjoy a moneysaving Thursday :D:D:D

    Morning All

Late on today as I spent an hour listening to a parliamentary debate which I'm now wading through for today

Had a horrible evening, stuck in with my grandmother who's turning really nasty.

Going out for a coffee with a friend after work then off to see Big Sis. My books - including Martin's new one - have arrived, so need to collect them and hoping to get the final Harry Potter book out of the library. I feel lost without a book to read.

Miserable weather here today and the office is once again packed with additional people, but so far they've not effected the internet.

Anyway, must dash as loads to do, but just wanted to say hi

Csarina not sure if this is any help but couldnt you get a credit card just for the holiday then pay the balance back in full as soon as you hget home? i've only been abroard once - i won a family hol to Florida and was told we NEEDED a credit card in america when we booked into the hotel so they could charge extras damages etc to it. It came home unused as it happened because we got so much included spends and free food and park vouchers we never actually put our hand in our pocket for our 'own' money:T . I really hope you can get sorted out in time for your holiday and the bank can help you, i think they will try if the alternative is losing your custom.

managed 2 no shopping days and have another today, kids complained at breakfast because their were no 'sugar puffs' but as their are 4 full boxes of shreddies, 2 weetabix, a shredded wheat AND a bite sized shreddies all sitting on the shelf i dont think i need cereals on my list for a while! They all went off with a tummy full of shreddies so they can eat them.

Had to order some flowers for a friend in another part of the country yesterday (wasnt spending my money it was a collection id organised. any way i used my local independent florist who is brilliant, i mentioned to her i needed flowers outside her free delivery radius (Leicester to Newcastle is a tad far:rotfl: ) anyway she said all independent florists can work together so she scouted round and oragainsed with a florist local to my friend to deliver. worth thinking about if you want to avoid interflora type delivery charges. She has even worked with a florist in austrailia and because the family had only just moved out their and had no banking set up the florist was in a Mall so brought gift vouchers wine etc and delivered it all and the money was transfered through the florists. Sorry if im rambling but i just thought it was an excellent way of getting nice gifts to far away friends and avioding expensive delivery charges.

staggered meal times again tonight as kids are all over the place and will be home at different times
