Any advice that you receive from me is worth exactly what you paid for it. Not a penny more or a penny less.0 -
fresh buffalo mozarella is freezable, though the consistency will not be quite as spring when you defrost it0

it'll have separated into a nasty, fluidy, lumpy mess?

I don't like to disagree with you but that's not been my experience.
Jammygal, I have frozen buffalo mozarella many times with no problems whatsoever. There's an older thread on this that should reassure you. I'll add your thread to that one to keep all the replies together.

I'll mention it next time I meet up with my sister-in-law who works for the British Cheese Council and from whom I took my original advice

chuckles 1066,
Please read my post again....where do I claim to know better than any experts?
As I stated in my previous post I am speaking from my own personal experience of freezing buffalo mozzarella.

Just backing up Pink here, I also freeze buffalo mozarella all the time. I drain it and open freeze in thin slices and then bag up. I put it frozen onto pizzas that go straight in the oven. I have never had any problems with it - its still stringy once cooked.

Quick queston, can you freeze mozarella? It's the type in the oil. Or if not, can I make up some mini pizzas using it and freeze those cooked?"Failure is always an option"
Sealed pot challenge #107 - still going strong0
