Can I be cheeky and ask for a recipe please?:o
HERE'S a link to a thread with recipes
I've made it a few times now & everyone who's tried it loves it
I usually use a chopped up mozzarella & 4oz grated Red Leicester, but you can use any combination of cheeses you like
EDIT ... I don't use the melted butter, it's rich enough without it, only use 1/4 teaspooon salt & I've now found that it's much nicer with proper Hash Browns than Lidl's Rostis0 -
This is brilliant. I make pizzas quite a lot and this would really help me out as I wouldn't have to make a special trip out to get some mozzie for them. Cant believe I never thought of freezing some. Thanks!
BTW, Sainsburys are doing Buffalo Mozzarella with 25% at the moment it anyone is interested.SIMPLE SIMON - Met a pie man going to the fair. Said Simple Simon to the pie man, "What have you got there?" Said the pie man unto Simon, "Pies, you simpleton!"0 -
I want to freeze some mozzerella. I usually freeze it in its bag with the liquid but this time I want to grate if first. Can anyone tell me, please, whether it all sticks together and if so should I freeze it on a tray before bagging it so that I can take out handfuls at a time? Advice appreciated.0

If I grate it I just shove it in a big freezer bag and pop it in. When it is frozen I bash it on the work surface to break it up. I have been freezing Mozzarella for years, both lumps of it and the stuff in whey and we are all still alive!Snootchie Bootchies!0

Hi callumpster,
Yes you can. Sometimes I take it out of the bag and just wrap it in cling film and sometimes I just bung it in the freezer.
This older thread may help:
Freezing mozzarella?
I'll merge your thread with that one later to keep all the replies together.

P.S. Thanks for your posts on Friday. :T They spurred me to make pizzas on Saturday and even if I say so myself they were the most scrumptious stuffed crust pizzas I've ever made ...my kids said they were nicer than any they've ever had in a restaurant! :j0 -
Hi,
I usually open freeze mine in slices and then bag up, using a few slices on pizza from frozen and bung in the oven - I use a very concentrated HM tomato sauce on top to stop the pizza going too soggy on top. Thanks to MSE, I am mortgage free!

I bought the one for pizza in a block from Mr T's and use the food processor to blitz it to crumbs and freeze in a large bag - can use handfuls when necessarySaving in my terramundi pot £2, £1 and 50p just for me! :j0
