Reverse Parking - moneysaving? even for me?

  • If you park nose-in to a space, when you return to your vehicle the rear screen may be misted or dirty. You're reversing into an area that contains other vehicles, pedestrians, trollies, and errant children.

Its much safer to drive out of a space than reverse out. If you can't reverse into a space, I honestly question if you're fit to drive a car.

The car is more manouvreable when in reverse, so it make sense to reverse into the space.

    ps forgive the spelling!

    simple physics?
so you are saying it is easier to reverse a longer car out of a space than into it?

dont be so silly, you will use the same amount of road regardless of whether you drive in or reverse in.
    who mentioned you changing car?
maybe resitting test ,as you said it depends on ability,if you arent able you shouldnt be driving.
and driving style, yes properly, reverse in drive out, that is proper.
and it doesnt depend on car, whether it be a van an estate a smart car or whatever, the same simple physics apply (front wheel steering) .

Well.... I shall try my very very best to drive 'proper'. Wouldn't want people thinking I wasn't 'proper' now would I?

I wonder what else I can start doing 'proper'.

I felt so guilty about this post that, being the Physicist I seem now to be, I called up the DVL and told them that under the advice of some people on an internet forum, I am a Very Bad Driver who does not reverse her car into parking bays, as is proper, and so I have handed in my license.

Luckily, I happen to have a horse and a trap, so I have decided to start taking this to Asda. there is a small fence that I can tether her to and some bushes she will happily munch while I shop. I feel better about this as I now know that reversing out of a space is not proper and is it seems, Very Dangerous And Silly even if it does mean I can the buggy out the boot.

I have sold my car and bought a book titled How To Be As Awesome As Some People Believe They Are. I think it is made from recycled toilet paper.

if you dont do something proper then dont be surprized when it all goes wrong.

im guessing the you tube link is a vain attempt at humour?

thats good news for us then if you are off the road! :T

why dont you just let the horse graze on your own grass and you could use the manure that comes out of the horse and your keyboard to help you grow your own vegetables so you dont even need to go near a road or asda.

i have read this book it is very useful.hope you manage to understand it all it doesnt have many pictures in it.:rotfl:

Oooer - trod on some toes - or driven over them.

Gender thing???? I reverse in if I want or I drive in if I want - either way i can park my car and I don't think that either way, it costs anymore money whatever way you do it. As long as it doesn't take three million manoevres to do it.

kinda loving this thread tho :D
