Yippee - my Panasonic SD254 just got delivered to my desk! Just got to carry it home now ...
I worked solidly from 7.15 to 12.30 this morning so have treated myself to an Eat pie for lunch - beef & stilton.0 -
Hi everyone.
POOKY - your post really made me laugh but, where on earth did he learn all the flatulence noises?! He sounds a real character. I'm going to get one that says, to husbands only, 'oi, get that kettle on', 'oi, clear up those dishes', 'oi, buy wifey lots of pressies', 'oi, stop teaching me to burp and fart' and many more useful phrases!
NELSKI - have a great holiday!
TATTYCATH - Massive ((((hugs)))) to your poor DD - is there nothing the doctors can do?
On the talkative point - yes, I do ramble. My husband once said to me 'don't you ever run out of words?' When I accuse him of not listening, he says 'but you have SO much to say I can't take it all in'!
Anyway, I'll try and keep this short! My new hairdresser was very nice and I'm really pleased with my trim. AUSSIE - she thought my hair was a lovely colour and couldn't believe it was an over-the counter one. BTW, hope the baby arrives very soon!
I have also been to the gym and done a little bit of shopping - I stuck to my list, as well.
Anyway, I'm off to have my lunch now so see you all later.

Re: the parrot - we have friends with an african grey and it *does* say 'put the kettle on', as well as shut the door, tells the wife to shut up, the dog to shut up and does a very good impression of the phone ringing! It has been offered to us, as we would have the room to let it out of its cage, but it is a birds bird (hates men), so I have to make friends with it. OH taught it to miaow
. Can't teach it swears though, because of the kids.
I think I will PM you about owning a parrot PookyWe must all suffer one of two things: the pain of discipline or the pain of regret and disappointment0 -
Pink and Haribo and Aussie, thanks for the laughs today.
Got weighed in and had put on half a pound so now am half a pound over my target weight and only have two and a half pound leeway before I have to start paying again:eek:
Must be good this week.
Wash load I put out this morning is now indoors on the radiator but nearly dry so that’s a bonus. Making a loaf of pain de champagne today.
Paper mache I made with the kids yesterday is still not dry, as I made the glue with flour and water, maybe I should stick them in a low oven, don’t know what this will do to the balloon and plastic pint mugs I used to shape the paper mache round tho:rotfl:
Pooky love your parrot:rotfl:
Happy Birthday Aussie:T

Afternoon everyone
At work at the mo - slowly ploughing through everything (hard work after almost 1 month off  ).
Anyhow, not long to go now and it's hometime :j Tea tonight will be chicken burger and chips for DD (she has football practice and Brownies so it's a bit of a rush  ) DH and I will have corned beef hash with a poached egg
Popped to Argos earlier to get the new catalogue - so will have a browse later on tonight.
Need to clean the bathroom when I get home and I want to finish some more of my knitting
Happy Birthday Aussie :bdaycake:
Better go - (((((hugs)))))) everyoneSquares knitted for my throw ~ 90 (yes!!! I have finally finished it :rotfl: )Squares made for my patchwork quilt ~ 80 (only the "actual" quilting to do now :rotfl:)0 -
Happy Birthday Aussie - sounds like you had a fab day!
What is going on with all the armchair sleeping???
I am off work today - DH had to go to a funeral and I am rather pleased with myself so far:
- I got myself another translation job.
- Been to Post office to post some Amazon sold books
- Chemist for some Teetha for DD (ouch £4.40 but the stuff is brilliant)
- cleaned the kitchen, did the washing up, prepared dinner (cottage pie waiting in the fridge now to be put into the oven)
- tidied front room
- one load of washing in TD, another in WM, stuff out of TD folded and put away
- a good play session with DD consisting of chasing around, making homemade playdough, reading a book and stroking cat (teaching her to be gentle)
This afternoon once DD is up we go to the high Street, a new Argos has opened and they have a competition where you can win a shopping voucher worth £500 so of course this has to be entered. Also need to go to the bank and buy some fresh fruit from the fruit/veg shop.
Catch up with you later

Afternoon all,
Happy Birthday Aussie Lass  - even if you've gone to bed now.
It's horrible here - very dark and keeps chucking it down. Spent most of the day finishing a tax return for someone - but I'm to get paid for it which is good. Did my own online as well so that's one job done.
Got 2 trivia quiz books at the charity shop for dh as he's entering a cub team for the District Quiz and we know that some of the Cub packs will have been doing intensive coaching for the last 6 months. I also treated myself to the latest edition of "Country Kitchen" which I haven't got before - but am pretty impressed with.
Pink - loved the story. I used to do something similar, I think, when ds2 was little and now have a fairly encyclopaedic knowledge of the back streets of E Belfast - comes in handy sometimes. Hairiest times were always round the Twelfth of July:eek:
Having a pork and apple casserole for tea - will make it in a minute and put it in after Squirrels on very low as I have said I will take ds1 and one of the other leader's DS swimming whilst dh and ds2 are at Cubs - it means we all have to eat at about 9.15 - so a casserole will be handy.

Hi everyone.

(He's an african grey for whoever it was who asked ) He just picks up phrases and noises as he hears them - he is good though and always says "pardon me" after a burpHe does a great seagull impression, learnt lots of animal noises when DD's were little too - Ducks go quacckkkkkk, dogs go woooooooof and the like, but then he does the annoying ones too - copies the phone which fools me nearly every time, thinks he's a lorry reversing and now copies the sound of the laptop when it boots up :rotfl: It's amazing how clever they are, in the past he's been to stay with my parents when we've been on holiday and my dad is always doing some sort of carpentry or building work so now when ever you get the drill out or hammer something he calls "Raaaayyyy - shush" as that's what my mum says.....and when my dad comes to visit it's always - "stroke, stroke, where's my polo" as he puts his head down for a tickle (and a polo)
He really has been a source of constant amusment and is just so soppy it's untrue (but only with me - hates DH) He'll even lie on his back on my lap (the parrot that is) and asks for "strokes".
