  • Good morning everyone!

Anniestar - I knew you were a Level 42 fan, but didn't realise just how much until yesterday :D :T :j

Pink -great to see you back - hope you have a funny story like that every day :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Shez, dannahaz, odds'n'sods, and eveyone else who's not been here for a while :hello: are you still around

Essex girl - have a brill holiday! Where are you going - I seem to have missed that?

Busy day at w***. I'm doing some on-the-job training, to both improve my current prospects, and my futute prospects, should I wish to move on (it's a training course that most people doing my job have completed, but I, somehow, have managed to miss :o ). It's then the weekend, so I'm not complaining :j

Bang bang chicken for tea, to use up some of the industrial quantities of Sichuan pepper DH brought back from China last week.
DD is off to Barcelona on a school art trip tomorrow. Coach leaves at 2:30 am    so will be up at really silly o'clock to get her there  Early night tonight.

Have a great day, everyone, and catch you all later.

    Happy birth Aussie :bdaycake:

Mrs Mix, hope the sofa arrives today, you have certainly waited long enough !

Pitch black again today, but no rain or frost. On the bright side, it was still light at 4.30 yesterday afternoon, so Spring is on the way :j

Work today, am taking chicken tikka and coleslaw with salad for lunch, and chicken casserole in the slow cooker for tea.

Gordon Ramsay on Channel 4 tonight, have just read his book, and he causes quite a fuss in the States

Have a good day everyone x

Fingers crossed for you Mrs Mix.
I have my yearly review coming up soon, hopefully there will be no problems apart from the target setting, all I do is photocopying so what targets can be set? I can't work quicker as my speed is set by the speed of the machines, burser wan't pay for me to go on any courses as they are too expensive, I did say that the department could be turned into a resource for the local community which the burser agreed was a great idea, but then refused to advertise the fact in the school brochure!!! So I've got a week to come up with some other ideas, lol.
I hope you all have a wonderful Wednesday.
    Hugs Hester

Morning to all who have posted and a Very Happy Birthday to AUSSIELASS. :bdaycake: Hope you have (or had if the day is over now) a great day.

PINK-WINGED - I'm so glad they didn't have you arrested! I think it's very brave of you to go out at night like that.

MRSMIX - Good luck with the vampire lady and I SO hope that you are sitting on your new sofa some time TODAY!

    ESSEX-GIRL - have a fantastic time.

JANNYANNIE - neat vodka is the only thing I've known to get rid of the smell of pee, vomit, spilt milk in the car and randy tom-cat (what an exciting life I've had!). The alcohol breaks down the enzymes in the substance and really gets rid of the smell. We don't drink vodka but I keep a cheapie bottle in my cleaning cupboard and that's all we use it for!

Well, I have had a couple of good night's sleep which I think is due to the fact that I don't have any more hot drinks (tea or coffee) after about 8.30pm. I'm OK if I drink water (I drink gallons of water all day anyway - I love it) but it is definitely the caffeine (much as I love that, as well) that keeps me awake.

We caught up with Lark Rise last night - I had recorded the first two episodes -and I'm really enjoying it. I do think the BBC are brilliant at costume drama and the real bonus is - no adverts. I was able to get quite a bit of knitting done, as well. I just have the features on the face to do for the little doll I have knitted for DGD (5 today!) and I made a start on a lovely handbag from a pattern in my new Let's Knit magazine. It's done in Aran wool on big needles and is not going to take very long, at all. I can see a few being made for Christmas presents. It takes 50gms of wool and 100gms only cost 99p! This one I'm doing in purple for DS's GF (her favourite colour), but I shall probably vary the pattern and do a couple of mixed colour ones as well. I love finding a good but simple pattern.

Well, I was up at 5am bright-eyed and bushy-tailed; DH left at 6.20 and I showered, got dressed, cleaned the bathroom and tidied upstairs, put the WM on, prepped the bits for tonight's spag bol and cleared away the breakfast things by 7 o'clock. I'm going to have a mooch on the 'comp' thread in a minute, then the 'knitter's' thread and then the 'up your income' thread.

I have an appointment with my new hairdresser at 10.30 (my old one has closed down, which I'm very sad about), and then I shall go straight to the gym. I shall probably feel like a snooze after lunch but I have some business paperwork and phone calls to make for DH so I shall be busy most of the day.

I hope everyone who has been so ill with the bugs and lurgies is feeling a lot better now.

Well, I hope you all have a great day and I'll see you later.

    KathyXX

REDRUBY - I did laugh at your account of the talkative tradesman. I had to have my PC looked at last year and the chap who did it was absolutely brilliant and didn't charge very much at all but - talk! He didn't stop! And it was all about in-depth computer things about which I didn't (and still don't) have a clue. I recommended him to a friend the other day and warned her that the chap talks for England! I have often resorted to emergency measures to gently 'get rid' of people who stay just that little bit too long. I once answered the phone to an ex-colleague who did nothing but moan about her boss (my ex-boss). This was one of the reasons I left - because she moaned all the time but wouldn't do anything to help herself. In the end, after about 40 minutes of listening to her complaining about him, I rang my own doorbell so I was able to say 'I must go, there's someone at the door'!

You get the piccy I am sure, just read the thread and cannot remember a thing, apart from the vampire lady for Mrs_M - good luck I saw one here last week, no messing, no asking which arm, just sit down you are having it done in the arm where I am standing - but also NOT A MARK OR A BRUISE.

    Morning All

    Happy Birthday Aussie

Good night's sleep, just not long enough.

Treated myself to 3 DVDs in Mr T yesterday, thanks to a gift card I earned through Valued Opinions. All chick flicks, so they'll keep me amused!!

Going round a friend's later. She asked me to help her teach her 3 year old how to cook cookies. Turns out I'm just wanted to occupy the child while she gets on with other things. Slightly miffed at that. This will be the last time for a long time. I've been helping her out at least three times a week lately and I'm starting to feel used. I get texts constantly asking me to collect things for her - same one who wakes me up with text messages. So I'm just not going to stand for it anymore.

We've got too many people in the office at the mo, so when they all get in, in about an hour, I'll lose internet and email:mad: Caused great fun yesterday:rolleyes:

Don't think I really have any jobs to do today. Going to watch Martin tonight of course.
Did anyone see Ladette to Lady last night:eek: What are some of those girls like?? I was shocked! I'd love to go on that programme though. I'm not a ladette in anyway, but would love the chance to learn how to be a proper lady and maybe meet prince charming:rotfl: Speaking of which, I've signed up to a speed dating event just before Valentines! Using is as research for work - honest!!!

    Hope everyone's ok

    Morning everyone,
well i realised it was morning about 45 minutes ago, i woke on the sofa and when i woke i could not work out where i was at first or what time it was etc, i was very warm though as DH had covered me with a blanket.
I have a very busy day today, have to swish and swipe the whole house and hoover too there`s food to prepare and baking to be done and i also need to go out for the sack of dog food that we need.
I`ve no idea what the weather is doing and i can just see the first bit of light coming through the blinds so i`ll investigate when i go to make my next cuppa, sounds windy though!
I`ll catchup with yesterdays thread later today - that was what i was doing when i fell asleep lol amazing how tired we get and just like that we are asleep without realising it.
Well i`m off for a cuppa and i`ll play catch up later.
Have a good day every one.
