I agree, they could, but Merlin bought Tussauds out (or however it worked!) In my opinion Merlin are much more towards customer satisfaction than Tussauds ended up being. Plus we would have the clout of Tesco behind us!!0 -
2 of our passes run out at the end of next month. I don't want to travel to Thorpe Park when it opens at the end of March and find we can't use the clubcard vouchers so have to take our DD home.... she would be upset....Tesco really should give a definate answer one way or the other.
Thorpe Park were already covered by the old Tussauds pass though weren't they? So nothing has changed there.
And no-one has to take their Deals vouchers to the park, there is a second option of posting your Deals vouchers and photo with your application form. Details and address are given on the further info about this Deal, on the Tesco website and will probably come in the post with your Deals too.
So I reckon get the Deals now at £95, if you need the Passes soon then send them & the necessary enclosures off, then you'll get your Merlin Pass which - as stated in the OP here - will cover you for the new parks as well as the old. I am going by the original post which says Tesco confirmed it will include the new parks - if it doesn't I will return my Deals Tokens to be recredited to my clubcard account.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Yes, but the voucher will not be accepted if Merlin don't take them at the old price, which would mean we couldn't get in.
I always exchange the vouchers at the park as it saves having photos taken and postage costs. Also, some vouchers were lost in the post before and it took a long time to sort it out. (Special delivery doesn't cover the loss of the vouchers)0 -
Thanks for this, have been saving for these but was holding off till the deal with legoland was done, will order now, hopefully they won't pull out before I can get to one of the sites to get the card...
I remember looking at the Merlin Annual pass website a while ago and they dont have a child pass, which I guess is why tesco dont offer one.
You can also use the card at parks in Europe:
Go International!
Planning a trip abroad, make sure you pack your Annual Pass. It's valid for:- Entrance into our International Madame Tussauds attractions
- Entrance into Heide Park, Germany
- Unlimited entrance into Portaventura, Spain (x1 entrance per pass)
- Entrance into Park Asterix, France.
Please note that on emailing Merlin re. whether the new annual pass will still be acceptable at Portaventura, the reply was:
"We cannot confirm this at this time apologises, we are still in negotiations.
We will be posting this on the website shortly.
If you have the new Merlin Annual Pass then we can confirm that the new pass is only valid for our UK attractions."0 -
the pass can also be used in Las Vegas tussaudsPlease note that on emailing Merlin re. whether the new annual pass will still be acceptable at Portaventura, the reply was:

I've just phones Tescos and they said it will not be the new pass that is issued now it will the the old one which doesn't include Legoland. For that pass you have to wait until mid-February.0

Wonder if the lady at Tesco's meant that no-one can get the new pass until Feb?? Feb is the date on the annual-pass.co.uk website, as that is when some of the Theme Parks open for the school holidays??!!!??0

see my earlier post
alton towers said they are still in talks with tesco and not yet sorted anything out. that was on mon morning you can still get the old passes but the will not include other attractions. it will probably be mid to end feb before they sort anything.
you can alway risk it as you'll save yourself a few pounds in vouchers but it will still have the old pass details on the voucher so dont know if they will accept it0 -
I spoke to the annual pass people at head office and Madame Tussauds this weekend. Both said the same thing - there are now 2 types of annual pass for sale - one including and one excluding legoland.
If you buy the tesco pass you will get the one that excludes legoland regardless of when you pick it up.
If you don't buy now there is a risk that the new merlin pass will not appear on tesco at all.0 -
i really resent having to buy a pass for my 2 year old but he is a giant. but he's an adrenaline junkie who rides everything he can and really gets his money worth so i shouldn't moan. if he didn't like rides i would feel ripped off. most theme parks don't charge 2 year olds.
You don't have to buy a pass for your 2 year old. Our 3 year old is photographed with us on our annual pass photo's so the ticket office can see that she is allowed entry without paying. We've used the passes at Alton Towers 6 times since we got them and have never had a problem. You only have to buy a pass if they're over 4 (I think).0
