    Heya all,

Had a lovely evening out last night as had a few hours to spare and went out for a lovely meal with the boyf and some of the guys from work. Really nice little restaurant where I had a Goan Fish curry...kinda reminded me of fish fingers in a curry sauce but was yummy non the less! Got a bit heated at the end though as meals out always do, as they slapped on a service change which they said was mandatory but as we waited well over an hour to be served was a bit of a mare plus the money everyone puts in never seems to match the bill! Me being the DFW that I am, knew down to the penny what I had to pay and then someone mentined splitting it which would have meant I paid an awful lot more as everyone was drinking bar me and knowing the money situation, I wanted to stick to 2 drinks all evening as I didn't have any more cash but luckily it was all sorted in the end...I hate it when that happens as money is very tight for me :(

Anyway I played 'taxi' home afterwards which was strange to say 'no drink for me as I am driving!' luckily I wasn't too nervous and managed to drop everyone home in one piece!

Had a busy day today and have just found out that Emily is staying at her mates tonight so I am trying to think of something to do as these nights away from Emily are few and far between! Nice to be out doing things and as a poster mentioned a few posts ago I need to get out or I will crack up!

No idea what to do but will hopefully think of something cheap!

Right off to clean the bathroom...on the joys! xxx

    Hello again!
We've not donemuch in half term at all! Tomorrow we are off to Pontin's at Brean, so not far away, just for the weekend, with my sis, her hub and 3 girls. My 2 very excitied of course, it'll be good to get away.(Hope I get to see X factor on sat hehe) Enjoy your days away! My folks went away last weekend and they too stayed in to watch the X factor! Made me laugh...my poor dad isn't really a fan but my stepmum is so he was not too happy!
But I'm like you too..I worry about what I'll do when they're older, especially as I work in a school and have long holidays. I've thought about teacher training, so maybe some studying would keep me busy. Even when they go to their dad's I miss them and rattle about on my own! I hate being home alone with just me and the cat...think I will end up an old lady with lots of cats at this rate! :o

SOmetimes I think it's far too much effort meeting blokes, I can see me being on my own forever, I just can't be bothered! I am so used to staying at home that to go out seems an effort, not that I have anyone to go out with anyway!!! Ditto that!

Money wise I'm plodding along nicely, being careful and not going mad, keeping track of it all. But just not paying anything off on the loan I have. I got rid of a couple of small catalogues, but not organised enough to see when I have extra money and make overpayments on the loan. It's at £4600 Ithink, a few years left! Thing is, I dont really have an 'end of month' when you can see what money you have left. I'm paid monthly, but tax credits are weekly and HB fortnightly, so my money seems fairly constant. I need to be more organised I think!! That must be frustrating not to have the end of the month and must mean you have to be doubley organised! Well done on getting things paid though and getting rid of the catalogues as they can be a right mare as I used to have a few!

And to top off my grumpiness, I put on about half a stone over the summer, which isnt huge I Know, but I'm not very big anyway, so it's noticeable! And all my nice clothes are snug, some of last years jeans look awful, with the extra few pounds spilling over the sides haha. I lost a lot of weight when ex and I split up, I hardly ate and was about 8stone, so now feel much lumpier!Arhgghh wish I had some willpower. I'm thinking I might join WW online on Mon, when we're back from Pontin's, thinkng if I pay I HAVE to stick at it!!! Ditto again! I too have put on about a 1/2 - 3/4 stone on over summer so my clothes are the same! I used to do SW but find it hard to stick at really but have decided that I need to be more determined as certainly can't afford any more clothes! Oh well! Really hard now with the cold weather kicking in as all I want is comfort food!

ANyway, hope you're having a good day. Georgia has gone swimming with friends. The friend's big brother is supervising, but first time she's been in town with just mates, bless her, growing up quick! SHe texted me to ask if she could spend the rest of the money I gave her in Claire's!! Em has done our pumpkin, she'd better get on pc and do her homework before we go away for wkend! (Half term hwk, mean!) It is scary when they want more freedom...Emily went swimming the other week and I spent the whole time worrying...what is she looses her underwear, her wallet, mobile etc but was all fine in the end. She didn't even ask about the remaining money and spent it all anyway!
How's Emily enjoying secondary? G loves it, they've all grown up A LOT recently, scary!!! She is loving it and has grown up a lot in the last 6 weeks...grown an even bigger gob too!

    Bye for now

Make sure you let me know how the weekend away went! xxx

  • Hello everyone,

Brrrrrrr! What a cold morning it is today! I love this time of year though, probably more than the summer time! Autumn leaves etc wearing lots of scarfs and hats! And of course Fireworks night which also happens to be my birthday :)

Had a nice relaxing evenning in in the end with a bottle of red and the boyf treated us to a takeaway! Was planning to go out but Emily couldn't go as early as planned to her mates and then the boyf realised he lost his keys and had to go back to work to search for them and all got a little crazy! I was shattered out as had been up mega early that day so we watched a little tele and I fell asleep snoozing on his arm...much to his annoyance :)

Anyhoooos, have had a letter today to remind me that I have now paid my 12 months of installments towards my bike on the bike to work scheme and after one final payment to take over the ownership of my bike, means that I will officially own it and no more payments! The final payment is £43 and I reckon I must have been paying about £40 per month out of my salary as it is hard to know the exact amount as the took the payment for the bike before my tax and insurance came off as that is part of the special deal to try and get more people biking to work. So that is good to know once the final payment is done in November, I will no longer have to pay anymore money out! So whatever the extra is will go towards the debt busting!

Hope everyone is ok today! Soooo excited now that it is the 1st November as means I can now say it is Xmas next month! But that means that in a few days it is my birthday and I will be a whole 29 years old....eeeeeeek! Last year of the 20's!!!

HUGE happy birthday for tomorrow! Do you have anything planned? I am gonna be at work on my birthday :( boo hiss! But my friend has his birthday on the 7th so we are hooking up on the 6th to have a birthday lunch which will be nice!

I get in a bit of a state at birthday time, same as at the end of the year thinking about what I wanted to achieve for the year and what I actually did manage to achieve :o ho hum!

Don't panic...in my mind you are not heading to the late 30's but are still at mid 30's :T Have an awesome day! :j  :j xxx

and what's wrong with late 30's??:D

Donna you seem to have achieved quite a lot this year, look at all those debts that are scored through - you are going in the right direction.

:rotfl: Nowt wrong with late 30's, 40's, 50's any age! :T

I am quite looking foward to the end of this year as hopefully will only have about 18-24 months left to go on my DFW journey so will be at least a 1/3rd of the way through and it will feel closer as will be in the next actual year even if it is the end of 2010 if you see what I am rambling about!!!

And forget about me as look at you! DFD is not far away now! :T :T :T Woop woop! xxx

Thanks, would have been DF by now if I hadn't bought a new car this year though! Try not to wish your life away though - I know I'm guilty of this too and I'm already thinking "this time next year...".:D

At least you have something nice to show for it! :T I don't reckon I have hardly anything to show for all my debt :( I spent soooo much on driving lessons this year and last year so I am very happy that is over with now!

It is very hard not to wish your life away isn't it? I keep on thinking 'oh what will I be doing in 2 years' and I know I need to just plod along and try not to let it get me down!
