Sorry that you are feeling so down hun.
Lets face it though at the end of the day this debt bustiong is bloody tough though.
As you say in some ways its harder on your own as you dont have anyone to bounce it off.
Also you have the problem of so many of us that you have to cover all the household expenses on your own which is hard.
BUT you are going so well so give yourself a big big pat on the back.
If I was you I would go for one of the smaller CC's next to give yourself a wee boost.
Great news on the payrise.
Take care & be kind to yourself.

awww Donna, sorry you're feeling down but personally I find the being on my own is quite good - noone to encourage you into takeaways and nag about buying stuff for the house. obviously the downside is having to pay all the bills yourself and noone being there when you need a moan but it's not all bad.
I think lots of us can sympathise with you though - sometimes I seem to be just bobbing along all positive thinking it's only another year and other times it feels like an eternity.
You've got your wee car now so why not plan a few day trips with Emily or boyfriend. Doesn't need to cost too much but might give you something to look forward to.Mortgage OP 2026 £860/2000Mortgage balance: £31,763

Funny how life never seems to turn out how you thought it would...I always thought by now I would be settled down properly etc but nope, not happened! It is very hard paying for everything single handed, just thinking if I did live with the boyf everything could be split but that isn't gonna happen so I should stop dwelling on it I suppose. I think I will go for one of the smaller cards, go for the Lloyds one of about £1400. I have some money from my wages today which can go against it and I have some money sat aside which I had stashed for the car as I got such a good deal with Mikey the Micra! :T I was gonna save it in case of an emergency, but really I think it would be best paid towards the card and if the worst comes to the worst and something happened to Mikey, I would have to put it on the card or make minimum payments that month etc so may as well use the dam money rather than having it sat there I suppose!:j 'Proud To Be Dealing With My Debts' - DFW Nerd member 866 :j0 -
BTW it is a good idea to cancel the old cards.
I am gonna do this this week. No point keeping them just in case...should help the credit rating ready for if I apply for a 0% BT card next year. I wonder how long I should leave it?
I have decided to pay minimum payments next month (November wages) so that I can buy the Xmas pressies for the family outright. Emily's money for Xmas pressies is sorted as put that away every month so just rest of family. I have explained that money is tight so they understand...I long for the day when I can treat my family and not worry about the cost!:j 'Proud To Be Dealing With My Debts' - DFW Nerd member 866 :j0 -

I can't believe how much takeaways can cost! Crazy money! I am getting better with my cooking and making things from scratch where I can and at least I like my own cooking!
I hate knowing that sometimes I feel great and then other days I feel rubbish and get sooo sick of being skint all the dam time! The boyf is quite a busy guy but I wouldn't have him any other way! I like the way that he does his thing and I can do mine (whatever that is?!?!) as I know a lot of people have to give their partners a 'pass out' which I find mental. I do feel bad though as know that it is hard for me to see him at his house and he feels like he is around mine all of the time but that is the price I pay for being a single parent. As Emily is getting older it is getting easier and have to think in a few years, I can start having the life that I have missed out on.
Emily is a bit of a mare at times as she is getting to that age whereas she wants to be out with her mates and not hanging out with boring old mum! I will try and think if something cheap for us to do this week before the week dissapears and she is back to school and I am back at work!:j 'Proud To Be Dealing With My Debts' - DFW Nerd member 866 :j0 -
I have added the next card to my signature, current balance as far as I can see is £1423.45...mmmm at least that gives me something to aim for!:j 'Proud To Be Dealing With My Debts' - DFW Nerd member 866 :j0

I think you are right to pay whatever you can to the next card on your list as it will give you a good boost.

and when she is that bit older you'll be DF, driving and Ms Independent too - think how fab that'll be. only a few more years.
can sympathise with the boring old mum bit, DS seems to disappear off to his room a lot these days or prefer to see his pals to but that's a sign we are doing well I suppose as the point is to raise kids to live their own lives. Just weird sometimes!
Good luck with the next card - a few months and it'll just be a memory.Mortgage OP 2026 £860/2000Mortgage balance: £31,763

I am gonna make this months minimum payment tomorrow and see about using that money I put aside for the car. I have the money for the tax put aside ready for December and I had thought that the cam belt would need doing sometime soon but turns out Mikey doesn't have a cam belt as he has a chain...bonus! I know it is silly that money just sitting there and that it would be bestter going off of the card just part of me thinks that I should save it just in case...but no point living with just in case! I could use the card for the card if needed so will use that money very soon!:j 'Proud To Be Dealing With My Debts' - DFW Nerd member 866 :j0
