Hiya KM!
Yep I have Internet Banking...have just checked it now to make sure the wages went in! It is just that I was expecting a chunk of overtime and last time this happened, they paid me all wrong and I had to pay the money back the following month and then they paid me the correct amount! I just wanted to make sure that they had done it the correct way this time before paying the money to the card...I think that they have though, seems to be about £260 quid extra this month so that will be going off of my card on Monday if that is the case. I have been off work today, hence no wage slip! That would be fab to pay off on Monday, will take it down to about £130 but then they will be outting the interest on too...with the usual minimum payment and a little extra if I can, that card will be gone within the month! Can't wait!:j 'Proud To Be Dealing With My Debts' - DFW Nerd member 866 :j0 -
Oh I see what you are sayin, best to be caustious until you're 100% sure. I am amazed at how much you have paid off its great and it must really give you a boost.
Hate to jump the gun but whats the next challenge for next month once thats clear
Hows DD liking having a car now in the family? Is she milking it yet?0 -
It's fab to have so much paid off, but with such HUGE interest rates left, right and centre it feels like it is gonna take forever! I know that if I knuckle down, I am looking at about 2 years or so but I just have to keep telling myself that 2 years will be here before I know it and then I can start trying to find somewhere nice for me and DD to live! :j
Emily is loving having the car! I am trying to keep it to minimal journeys only, e.g supermarket only and even though everyone thought I would be driving to work and everywhere else, I am still cycling and walking so that is all good! Great just having it there when needed! She has a party next Friday so I will be able to drive her now so she is happy about that, rather than me saying, sorry you can't go as we can't get there!
Next challenge...I will have 4 cards left, 2 HUGE ones and 2 little ones! Was toyinh with the idea of one of the small ones as is nice to see them getting paid off but realistically, I need to think about the interest and the huge amount I am paying on the bigger cards, so plan to hit them next! Dunno whether to pay an extra money to both of them, e,g, split any money I can 50:50 and pay to both, or to just hit one and then the other! Think I will do it that way? I just don't know! The interest rates are the same on both which is a mare, just thought the lower they get, the less interest will accrue, but I suppose is they are both on the same rate of interest, it won't make much difference! Does that make any sense???
Am deffo gonna get on the Snowball calculator and get a debt free date if I can too! Just want Virgin done and dusted first!:j 'Proud To Be Dealing With My Debts' - DFW Nerd member 866 :j0 -
The way i would look at it is to see how quickly this last year has gone and how much you hae done to reduce your debt..It will be over before you know it.
Glad the car is running well too.xBlackadder: Am I jumping the gun, Baldrick, or are the words 'I have a cunning plan' marching with ill-deserved confidence in the direction of this conversation?

Heya BOB!
I know, I can't believe that it is nearly October! Completely mental! I will be doubley happy when my Cahoot loan is all paid off, should be April 2010 which is only 18 months away or so! That is £175 per month going to that!
Is Emily's birthday next month and she will be 12! Little madam! First time ever though she will be at school on her birthday as the term time seems to have changed by a few days! She is not a happy bunny, but then she never is at the moment so nowt new there! I have booked the half term week and a half off as leave at work so will be nice to spend some time with her and away from the office.
Mikey the Micra is all ok! Took it out the other day to drive Emily to her school in the evening to help at a new potential parents evening thingy. Nice that it smells of roses after I stuck some smelly pig thingy in there, so no old man smell now as it was before!

Just a mega quick update as am at work...boo hiss!
£260 off of the Virgin card so getting right down now! I need to wait for the statement to see how much interest they are going to add on now and try and get it cleared by the end of October!
Mmmming and arrrrrring about what one to do next...really should do one of the larger cards but first will work out how long it will take me to wipe the smaller ones and would be fab to get them completely out of the way and they would be quicker too!
Can't wait to get rid of the Virgin one and do the snowball thingy too!
Hopefully gonna get a payrise in October as I work in a University...will be fab as more money to hit at the cards!
