Morning all,
Had a nice nights sleep apart from that huge cat wanting to sleep across my neck in the early hours of the morning...very odd! He weighs over 8.5 KG so is a MASSIVE cat and it felt like I was being strangled! But he finally moved and allowed me to get back to sleep!
Emily has her friends party today so I will be playing taxi! I have about half a tank of petrol left so that is ok.
Payday yesterday so I have paid some money against my card, really need to pay that dam car money against it too...dunno what is stopping me really, silly
I need to take the madam to town tomorrow to spend her birthday money! I haven't really driven to town before but think that I should as would work out cheaper than the bus, just get into a bit of a flap not knowing where to park. If I get up and go at a reasonable time in the morning, hopefully the traffic will be ok and I can park in the Cabot Circus car park. She only wants to go to one shop, Blue Banana, so that should be a quick visit. I don't wanna go anywhere really as get down about not having any money to spend! So parking charges should be low too!
I do need to try and get hold of some woman's cuff links though, for a shirt I need to wear on Friday morning. I have no idea where I can get some from? Will have to have a think...

I need to make sure I switch all the dam lights off etc and turn the heating and water off as soon as I can to try and keep the price from going up again. Completely mad as it is only me and Emily here and that £77 is a HUGE amount. I remember when I started living on my own at 16 I was paying about £35 a month for both...crazy!
EE missus, get it compare on uswitch then go through quidco for cashback. I pay Less than that for Four of us and we were in credit by over a £100 a quarter twice now. Get thee over and switch, it is your money not theirs:rotfl: :rotfl:

Hi donner I've no idea how much your 'car money' is that you have spare but if its worrying leaving yourself with no back up, then why don't you halve it? Half for emergency fund and half to the card? Just a thought.

Heya KM, Car money is £500  I have had it sitting around for soooo long as I put it aside when I had took my first test last year! Needless to say soooo many failed tests came and went and then when I finally passed and I got such a bargin on Mikey the Micra, I have just been sitting on it ever since! xxx:j 'Proud To Be Dealing With My Debts' - DFW Nerd member 866 :j0 -

Hi Donner
In between doing housework, children, lunch making etc etc I have read you whole diary today. I have some comments about it for you to think about.
a) did you ever sort out any storage? If you didnt' could you look on freecycle for some, or use part of the car money to buy some? The reason being that if you house space is less cluttered you will feel less stressed.
b) I guess you have come to terms with your bf not really being there for you, and not wanting to live with you? It just seems a shame that you seem to be waiting in for him rather than making more of a life for yourself in the evenings particularly with Emily having more sleep overs etc. Those free evenings should be spent enjoying yourself with your boyfriend, not sitting around on your own. I really feel like you are settling for 3rd best let alone 2nd. So I would suggest that you start arranging to do some things in the evening once a week eg swimming that both of you can do one evening. Or a class or something. And plan the child minder in to the budget. You need to have a life or you will crack up. As you bf doesn't seem to want to take you out much, or only on his terms then it is up to you to sort something out. Personally I would tell him to commit or hop it but that is me.
c) Did you chase the council up about the kitchen? If you are stuck there for AT LEAST two years, then again you will feel less stressed if this is sorted. Also check that you are in the correct band for council tax, cos if it is in a higher band than it should be then you can claim back the difference for all the years you have lived there.
d) did you get around to checking whether having you ex giving your address when he went bankrupt, is having a negative affect on your credit rating? You can post a note of correction on your credit file to correct this information.
e) You seems to fell off the ebay wagon, but I gather that the fees are a bit high now. but is there stuff you can sell on Amazon or play.com (for dvd's), or on greenmetropolis.com (for books)?
f) One consistent thing through all of your posts since January, is how shattered you always feel. Have you thought about getting this checked out. If you do have anaemia or whatever, this isn't going to help with motivation, and can make you feel quite down (ie the continual tiredness). You cannot debt bust if you are not feeling well either.
.
Finally WELL DONE on the debt that you have shifted so far. And even bigger WELL DONE on passing your test and finding Mikey! It ONLY took me 4 times to pass my test, and I know how frustrating that was.
Good luck with getting rid of the rest of the debt, and sorry if I am a bit blunt.
chevI want a job that is less than an hour driving away from my house! Are you listening universe?

Hiya Chev,
Blimey, that must have taken ages to read all this! When I read what you put, it really hit home which is a good thing, I was a little upset at the start but upset at myself because I realised how long this has been going on for and how I need to sort this and take the bull by the horns!
Storage, yep I definetly need some. I need to declutter really and spend a little or freecycle somethings for storage. The first thing I an gonna try and get is a shoe rack because there is not a day that goes by whereas I don't fall over a pair of shoes in the hallway! I need to work out how to out shelves up properly too so that I could put some up and get things off of the floor to make room. This could also apply to the bathroom too. I am also thinking about outting up some coat hooks to make room...there are many options and I never really thought much about it till now!
The point about the boyf and my free time...fair comment! This was the point which hit me the hardest really if I am honest as it makes sense. I know in my head things are not quite as I would like them to be in an ideal world but hopefully these will change soon. I do feel like I am about to crack up so do need to function in some social activities into my free time. I worry sometimes as find I don't have much in common woth peeps unless they are in a similar situation to me. The swimming sounds good as we have a pool about 5 mins drive away so might start doing that together once a week as good exercise too.
The council told me that it would take AGES and that if they are truthful, I would probably have moved out before they got round to fixing it. Will check the banding too...
I never heard anything back from Martin's people about the whole bankruptcy thing. When I wrote to the 3 credit companies back in January, I did state then when my ex left and that we have no connection so hopefully even though he did that, it wouldn't have had any effect. I need to cancel these paid up cards to try and help my credit rating too.
I have fallen off of the ebay wagon and need to change this pronto! I am going to find 5 things tomorrow and list them!
And finally yep I am always shattered out! I put this down to working full time, being a single mum and this constant worry about my money all the time
I could do with being tested really just in case. I also need to organise myself more too as I get up way to early and go to bed quite late. I need to get my daughter doing more as I waste so much time mollycodling her all the time! I could do with drawing up some sort of proper rota really? Some people on these forums are soooo organised they put me to shame!
The driving thing was such a huge weight on my shoulders and love the fact that I have Mikey! I hope to have this Lloyds card shifted by Xmas and then the next card by April and then I will only have the main 2 biggies and a year left on the Cahoot loan! Can't wait!
I know my life will change, just everything is so overwhelming. I need to have more confidence in myself really and remember what I have been through and how I have come out the other side and how in a few years, this life will be a distant memory of unhappy times :T xxx:j 'Proud To Be Dealing With My Debts' - DFW Nerd member 866 :j0 -
by GUM, i think it really is useful to have a diary, so that things can be pointed out. Glad you are going to get some things which have been niggling sorted out Donna.
Good luck hun
