  • Hi Donner

Sorry to hear you're feeling so down. Isn't it always the case that the 'small' things end up tipping us over the edge. I mean we seem to cope with the bigger things in life and then the smaller things seem to be the straw that breaks the camels back. Not that I am saying its not a hassle/expense having to sort the shower but I am just acknowledging that these type of 'smaller' things in life can just seem so big when we are trying our best to move forward. I mean you do a great job bringing your daughter up and you ran a marathon etc all big stuff and you cope admirably.. Am I making any sense?! I know what I mean :p

Sounds like your boyfriend does love you, I mean he isn't forced to stick around it just sounds like you are on different 'pages' of your relationship. Maybe as someone else suggested it would be good to have a talk with him as if we don't tell people how we are feeling how can they know? Never presume anything is my moto so don't presume he knows what you want/how you feel.

Hope DD is home safe now and been given the safety talk etc and that you are being kind to yourself this evening.

    Take care
    KM x

HUGE hello to everyone! Sorry haven't been back since the ramble the other day! What a hoo haa that was! Emily eventually called me back and said that she didn't hear all the missed calls due to being out on her friends trampoline....grrrrrrrrr! She has had her talking to, but at least she was having fun I suppose and not cooped up in front of the tele! I am hoping that when she gets to big school in the summer, she will get involved with things and make lots of new friends! I have been thinking about getting involved too and trying to join their PTA thingy as is important to get involved and she will be there for 5 years at least! Sunday morning we got the train to go and see the boyf's family for a meal which went well. We stayed over and got back yesterday and was nice to chill out for the evening!

I managed to get a shower on ebay, a new one which looks identical to the one already there! So I am hoping it will be easy enough to fit! Can't get over how identical it is! Apart from one dial! The seller dropped it off earlier, dead chuffed as means won't have to trapse down the depot to pick it up! It is crazy how the silly things can send me over the edge...if that hadn't broken, everything would have not looked half as bad! Had to put in on the card along with a few things this month, but hoping that will be it now! At least I am not going nuts like I used to, buying sooooo much stuff thinking well, I am in debt already a bit more ain't gonna hurt...how stupid was that eh! Things like Driving lessons and test etc but hoping that is it now and at least I am paying things off etc...so badly want a nice home to live, gotta keep telling myself that!

I have the day off today as am very lucky in my job in that we get the Friday, Monday and the Tuesday off! So am going to take my bike out and try my hand at mountain biking after lunch! Should be fun and is good to get outside and get some fresh air! Looking forward to it!

Need to check the bank balance tomorrow as pay day on Thursday. Gonna have to start getting tough especially as back to paying Council Tax etc Grrrrrr!

    Hope everyone is well! xxx

  • Hi Donner, looks like crisis averted then? We have all been through it- I remember the first time my eldest did this. She came sauntering home two hours after school finished and i was about to go looking for her. It is a fright- she had just been chatting with friends. I put in a rule- if late courtesy phonecall, just to let me know and also other little things. Make your rules and be flexible it will help her and you feel safer.
Glad meal with bf went ok. Budget wise dont knock yourself-sometimes we do what is necessary to get through. You have the tools as such on this site which will help you get through the tough times and show us that there are better ways-it is tough at times but you have a very positive outlook. I must admit my eyes are opened with this site i never knew how many ways there was to make money or how to budget smarter.
Anyhow, just keep posting and letting us all know- you inspire more folk than you realise. Bobx

    Hey Donna
Just checking in to see how your doing. So pleased that the shower has sorted itself out, it is funny how you get yourself into a stress about little things when you know that it effects your debt/budget.
Ive been so rubbish lately..again but just having a read and getting myself motivated!
I'll make a wish, take a chance, make a change And breakaway. I'll take a risk, take a chance, make a change and breakaway ....

Hey everyone! Hope you are all well! Thanks to bob and Sallyx for their lovely messages as always! It is crazy how much all of a sudden money matters and all these things, shower, driving lessons, countless tests etc all get in the way and can make everything seem so bad...but I know that if this was last year, I wouldn't have been fussed at all! Crazy!
Anyhoooooos payday tomorrow but have not had my wage slip so have no idea what the crack is money wise! Next month should get a little rise so that's all good and need to do a few hours overtime on Saturday morning so should be able to get time and a half for that! Mad how much I rely on payday! Doesn't get here soon enough! Well, have paid a bit more towards Emily's school camping holiday and now just £40 odd left to pay...but the childcare I would pay normally for that week is £30 and I have a tenner left in my wallet so am gonna give that in and pay off the darn trip! That is a saving on £20 per month straight off! Also as from next week, I am gonna cut the childcare down to 4 days instead of 5 thus saving £6 per week. Need to take a proper look at the cards soon to see what the current damage is. Am looking forward to having 2 weeks off work in April when Emily is on her school holidays as it will be nice to have a few days off but also can use the money I had put away (£180) to put towards a card. Am really determined to get rid of this stupid Barclaycard...keep on about getting stuff on ebay but have been so blimin tired and stressy recently haven't done anything! Want to get 5 items on ebay for the weekend so need to pull my finger out big stylee so I can get rid of that dam card! Right I am off to bed soon as am mega knackered...no change there...and my body aches like mad from that darn biking yesterday...not to mention have a HUGE bruise coming up from where I fell off my bike...ouch! Take care all, will be busy budgetting tomorrow I think! Yay pay day! :) xxx

Heya bob! Nah...pay packet looked RUBBISH! Gonna be such a tight month this month it's unreal! Have been looking at the OS boards about the Jamie Oliver eat for a fiver thingy trying to look for some inspiration...but need to aim to be well under a fiver really!!! At least when it is just me and Emily, we could possibly freeze half. I need to pull my finger out as when I get home from work, I am usually knackered and cannot be bothered! Could do with going through the freezer, eating the remains and then batch freeze stuff. I only have a smallish freezer section which makes it more difficult...I think I will keep an eye out on freecycle for a small freezer, just need to have somewhere for it to go! xxx

    Heya KM,

Spoke to the producer a little while ago asking how I was doing. I told him that by the end of April, I would love to have the Barclaycard paid off and he said that would be a good time to get me back on the show...this may be harder than I thought, but with the childcare costings I am gonna pay off it for the school holidays, that should take it down to £250 so am wondering if I could possibly Ebay sooooo much stuff I could make the £250? Mmmmm gonna have a serious think and try to photograph stuff tonight to get the picture taking bit out of the way and then list the bits at the weekend...takes a while to do all of that! Would be soooooo good to get rid of that card!

Exercise takes it out of you...hard to find the time or the energy! My shoulders have stopped aching now...but I have a really bad cramp in my leg... one thing after another! xxx
