Awwwww! Thanks! I had literally just started running when you posted that! About 12:10pm! We were meant to begin running an 11am, but they said something about all the park and ride buses had more runners than they expected so we all had to wait! Not to mention I was drenched and someone had the quality  idea of putting the baggage tent in the middle of a field, which ended up worse than Glasto last year so my feet were covered in mud and my socks saturated before I even started! Was not a happy bunny at having to wait the extra hour as just wanted to get the thing over and done with! Nevertheless, had a good run and finished at 2 hours 21 minutes. Was chuffed with that! I did however nearly pass out on the train home :( Was very worried as obviously on my own with Emily. The train was RAMMED and only had 2 carraiges! So was stood up and then everything started spinning and my legs nearly gave way and then I broke out in the most awful sweat imaginable. When I run my next race in the summer, will crash out at my dad's house I think and then get back in the evening after a nice rest. Need to look at why that happened as don't ever want that again! I do feel sooooo shattered out now though so am off to bed. Have just woken up from falling asleep on the sofa...very naughty! House looks like a bomb has hit it, so will get on with the cleaning tomorrow!

So thought I best pop on here, tell you all I am still alive and then hit the sack! I feel dead chuffed I managed to finish and no that I can beat my time next time! Might wear my winners race t-shirt into work tomorrow! I never wear the t-shirts usually, but should do I suppose to remind myself that I finished! But sure my legs will do that for me! Think it is quite possibly the only clean item of clothing in the house! :D Need to get on with the washing too! Been thinking of drawing up a washing schedule along with a housework schedule...I obviously need one! :D

Take care all, big hugs! :grouphug: I really need a hug so am gonna take the cat to bed! Hopefully he will give me a hug but imagine he will probably scratch me and run away! Oh well! xxx

    Hey Donna
Fab time on the run today and so pleased that you got through it, was thinking of you in the pouring rain at lunchtime. I think the whole nearly passing out experience was down to low blood sugar. Next one just make sure you have some rich tea biscuits or a banana to eat afterwards. Will keep your sugars stable and stop you from passing out!
Hey when is the run in Chippenham? I might join you if you fancy the company...although I think you would be way faster than me!
    Well done again
    xx
I'll make a wish, take a chance, make a change And breakaway. I'll take a risk, take a chance, make a change and breakaway ....

  • Can't believe i missed the update-damn internet!!!!!
Congratulations on completing in such a great time. Sorry about fainting incident-defo sounds like low blood sugar, so pack some extra carbs for future--ooh hark at me sounding like i know all about running-not.
S*d the housework, as you finish one job there is another waiting to be done!! Tis life.
    Catch up later. BOBXXXX

Hello everyone! Well managed to have my nice sleep thank goodness! Have spent the day chilling at home, done a bit of cleaning up and managed to get the washing up sorted! But took forever! Emily went out to play with friends today so had a quiet day, so I spent the afternoon reading a book my dad lent me, Paul McKenna's Increase your Confidence book. He lent it to me to help me prepare for my next driving test in 2 weeks...I have to listen to the CD as well but have read the book today so will have a listen to the CD before bed I think! Gonna do a bit of a meal plan in a minute I think, try and cut back as Payday on Thursday. Me and Emily are off to boyf's parents house on Sunday to go out for a meal. I know this sounds silly, but hate it when something happens and I have to find money from somewhere to pay for something that crops up if you know what I mean? I have to find the train fare too which is a mare :(

  • Hi Donner
You are in and out so quickly its hard to get a word in. Paul mckenna's book and cd is quite good very relaxing and motivational at the same time.
I had to find money for stuff which crops up all the time.
My internet is playing up as well, and the keyboard on the laptop an absolute mare as the cursor jumps and i keep having to retype. The caps is not working properly either and sometimes i cant be bothered to recheck the posts -oops.
Perhaps as a techie person you may be able to help solve a problem- why are the pages taking so long to load at moment, i type a reply and then press post, it seems to take an age and sometimes someone has thanked me before i have looked at page- if that makes sense!

Sorry, just caught up today - well done on the run. did they not give you anything at the end though not even a bickie? I definitely think you just need something to eat. You are an inspiration... haven't been out running for ages but now I'm looking forward to getting back into it. It'll save me spending money too but I stick to 10Ks don't think I could manage any further!
Could you not keep a wee bit of money back till the end of the month "just in case" and if you don't need it then use it for the next month. In the last week DS's school has asked for around £20 unexpectedly for various things... why they couldn't spread it over a few months I don't know but you have my sympathies!

  • Hi Donner

I hope you are feeling a bit less down this weekend. Its so hard when you are trying to pay these debts off and you dream of the things you can do when its finally gone and then things keep cropping up and getting in the way. But you do so well on one wage you really do so sometimes there are going to be good debt paying months and others not so good.

I know you work full time and have so much else to do but have you thought aboout applying to do AQA? Any 'extra' made could then be 'extra' debt repayments or it could be 'leisure money' for you and Emily so you don't feel so tied by your debt? Just a thought as its something you could do in you 'spare' (like you have loads of it!!!) time.

    Have a nice weekend

Heya everyone! Do you ever feel like everything is going wrong at that everything is against you? I am having one of those days today and am on a right downer :( Woke up this morning and was having a shower, then the shower started to make some very odd noises and then all of a sudden, the whole house lost all its electric! Turned out the shower has packed up and tripped the electric. I spent ages trying to get the fridge freezer working and now luckily that is ok and it is just the shower element which is screwed. Checked online and they cost about £70 so may as well get a new shower. My brother has said that he can fit one for me so that is something good, but will take a while to do...I found one in Argos on special offer and wanted to go out and pick it up, but my DD is nowhere to be found....Grrrrrrr! She is 11 and a half and recently her friends have been calling for her at weekends. I haven't let her out before yesterday as where I live isn't exactly nice and don't want her turning into one of those kids who hangs around the spar shop getting in peoples way etc, but thought that I was being a bit harsh so let her go out to play yesterday. Today she has gone out and has not been home, I have been calling her phone (I lent her my old mobile) all the time and she is not answering, which has meant that I have missed going to Argos. Have no idea where the madam is but no doubt she will roll in soon.
Have had such a cack day...went to B&Q this morning to look at the showers and was bombarded with couples all out shopping together. Sometimes I wish I had a guy about the house who could help me when things go wrong rather than me trying to work stuff out on my own! I also wish I was driving and had a car as could just jump in rather than having to organise everything transport wise. I know I have a boyf but if I am honest, I have felt like a singleton for quite some time now and I hate it :( He has a lot going on at the moment and his dad is very ill, so he is rather pre-occupied obviously. I feel really down about everything at the mo and hate feeling this cack. He has mentioned that he is looking for a house to buy with his friend, so I don't think he will be interested in living with me for several years yet. I think he likes to live the single life and then see me when he wants which is not what a relationship should be like is it? I would never stop him living the life he wants as I am not that kind of girl, I just want to feel loved.
Right I am going to have a lie down! Sorry for the ramble, just everything is such a mess and I feel so alone...xxx

awww Donna:grouphug: sorry you're feeling so down.

Have you tried talking to your bf about how you feel and where things are going? maybe he doesn't think you're that bothered about the way things are going.

hope you get the shower fixed soon.

P.S. you're not alone - 1. there are loads of us watching your every move and 2. some of us are even more single than you are!:D

  • Hi Donner, I know what you mean, I have had a poo week as well. We all go through it with children, and you can't help but worry. There is an element of trust as well, it is sometimes uncool when we have a close relationship, but she needs to follow your rules for safety. She will rant a bit- mine did, but they knew if anything went wrong what they could do. There may well be a good explanation for her not asnwering her mobile, probably having a good time and not wanting to answer. Why not contact her by text and see if she answers that.
Even in long term relationships you can feel alone, Us women do shoulder a lot and so do some lovely men. It won't be forever and everything that is annoying you is only short term. Once you have a new shower it will all go.
Dont feel sorry for the ramble that's what we here for.
