Happy Sunny Sunday everyone :) Nice to see a bit of yummy sun! Wish it would help me get over this feeling carp again :( Was feeling chuffed as was starting to feel better again yesterday, then late last night began feeling really bad again and spent the whole night awake :( Gawd how rubbish! I have been to the chemist today and and trying to drink fluids but have zero appetite :(

Luckily nice and peaceful here in the house of kebab as Em's has gone out swimming with her mates. Nice now she can get out there and do stuff with her pals. I always worry that something will happen, eg she will lose her trousers at the pool etc but have to just let her get on with it I suppose and stop mollycoddling her all the time!

I think I am gonna lie out in the garden now and have a snooze and listen to the ipod and just chill...hopefully the rest will make me feel better...

Awwwwww hope you feel better soon, am sure a lie in the sun will make you feel better.

You made me giggle about Emily losing her trousers at the pool;) Bless her, she'll be fine - but we do worry! G has gone off to the park with her pal this afternoon, after I booted her off the pc:p I've been doing the garden (not my fave job at all), so I'm knackered....need a sit down!

    Hello fellow MSE peeps!

Hope everyone is well...I have been very poorly for the last week and ended up signed off work, ordered to do nothing but relax and rest...which I have been doing! Starting to feel better now though apart from a dodgy tummy but that's all good.

Righteo...payday on Monday. Should manage to have the money for the villa in Spain ready to pay out for so just need to try budgeting for the flights. I have accepted no real overpayments to debt for a short wile as really want to get tis holiday paid for outright, no going on any cards etc. Will be worth it and hate the idea of putting anything onto cards now...thank goodness!

Am trying to also put a bit aside ready for the summer holidays childcare. Can't wait to get the next few months out of the way then I can start to get back to hammering at the debt!

Nice and chilled here as Em's is off at a mates and is staying the night. Gonna try my hardest for a very tight month this month as soooo wanna pay for those flights asap!

Will be due a bit of overtime in May's paypacket so that will go towards the flights and I have estimated that after that, I will need to find approx £150. Also need to sort out some holiday insurance...will check out Quidco and see if they do any through there? Shouldn't be too much for the 2 of us?

My wages are due to increase now too as have been in this job for 2 years. Dunno by how much, won't be too much but anything is better than nothing!

Need to put a bit aside for my nephews pressie too...gonna get him the Potato head family bucket! Comes with Mr and Mrs Potato head andf their baby! Awwwwwww!

I have a slightly smaller payment for the ski-ing holiday this month. Has been £55 each month until now when the want £40 for the next 2 months...so will save a little there too!

Anyhooooos, hope everyone is well. Has just started to rain here...booooooo! I am getting really excited about our first family holiday! It is gonna be awesome!!! And hot hopefully!!! :)

    Hello everyone!
Hope we are all well in DFW land! I am starting to feel better now thank goodness, just still well and truly knackered!

I have been inspired by watching the highlights of the London Marathon on the Sunday and have decided to enter and see if I can get a place next year! May as well as would be awesome...but it is so very hard to get in I don't like my chances! But worth a shot anyway! I am gonna sign up for the Chippenham half and run that again this year as will be good training for me...just in case!

I haven't done any proper exercise in a very long time really. No proper regular running so is gonna take me a while to get back up to speed as have lost a lot of fitness. I have been looking at ways to get some more exercise into my life and trying to fit it in throughout the day. I have also started cycling back to work so that is good! Have got myself a plan uptogether, so am working out when I can get back to it and trying to work out when I am likely to be well enough...as don't wanna try exercising if I ain't completely better as could make me worse.

Have done my budget for the month this time thank gawd! Looking ok...still unlikely for any overpayments but hoping the holiday will be all sorted. Nice to be in some sort of control...

Am also trying to think of something very cheap to do on the Bank Holiday! I am getting a little fed up being cooped up in here and would be nice to get out there in the fresh air (providing the weather is good!). Hard as Em's is at that age where she reckons everything is rubbish. Shame as I kinda wanted to get out for a long walk, but don't reckon it will happen as she will find it soooo boring! Will have to try and think! She wants to go to a theme park...but would need to take out a bank loan to afford that! So blimin' expensive!!! When I was young we just went out for a walk or a bile ride...oh I need to get her a little bike as she has outgrown the last one...grrrrrrrrr! Kids!

Oooooh I AM impressed - the London Marathon?! Hope you get a place, that'd be amazing;)

I can sympathise completely with the 'how to amuse a 12yr old' thing:D G would be perfectly happy to stay home on the laptop all day every day. On Sunday Em and I nipped into Bath but she stayed home. She did venture out to the park with her friends luckily after a while. I want to do something on Monday too - but you're right, it's all so expensive. We're going to Brean Leisure park in May half term for Em's bday, but I use Tesco vouchers - a £5 one buys the £20 unlimited ticket each for them. I don't want one, I just watch while my bro in law and nieces go on all the rides with my 2!!

I think this weekend Em and I are going to do some planting - make some tubs of flowers for the garden, she'll join in, but doubt G will be impressed - 12, what an age - well 12 next Sat, I can hardly wait:eek: Taking her and 6 friends swimming (I'll watch!)

Glad you're feeling better - me too. Had hosp appt today and finally getting sorted - surgery or diff meds tho, I know what I'll choose:rotfl:

    Heya everyone!

Gawd has been a while since I have been on here...not much to update either really!

Hope everyone is well and had a nice bank holiday! I went to meet up with my dad, bro and nephew in Bath yesterday...had a nice afternoon. Spent today chilling out and thinking about this money malarky! I think I need to be a bit more focused as having been doing as well as I should be really! I brought DD a few bits yesterday, couple of pressies as haven't treated her in a very long time. Then that had the knock on effect of reminding me that I really need to pull my finger out and sort this out! I am determined not to spend anymore that the £3.80 that it will cost me to go swimming this week! That's it! Food for the week is sorted and have petrol in the car ready for the weekend and that is that!

I have been keeping up with the exercise and feel a lot better for it! Been cycling into work, went for a run Wednesday, Sunday and today, spinning class on Thursday and swimming on Friday...sheesh! Determined to keep it up and loose a few pounds for the holiday...but am finding it very tough as REALLY wanna eat chocolate!!! So am gonna get myself ready for bed now so that I won't wanna eat!

Couldn't believe what I got through the post the other day...my boyf's parents sent me a cheque for £150 to put towards the holiday! I really couldn't believe it...was completely gobsmacked and speechless. Especially as that is the amount I was trying to find to pay off the rest of the flights! That would mean that I would just have to find the money for my cat to go to a cattery and some spending money, travel insurance too and that's it! I told them I couldn't accept it but they really want me to have it. I am thinking about not cashing it though...and see if they notice? It is such a lovely present...but that is an awful lot of money...and it doean't feel right accepting gifts...after all, it was my stupidness that got me into this mess in the first place :(

Righteo, gonna do the ironing and get my stuff ready for tomorrow and get an early night. Might have to succumb to a diet hot chocolate to take away this need for chocolate...as long as I don't add in a packet of cookies to the mix I should be just fine! Grrrrrrrrrrr!

Awwwww how loely of the boyf's parents:p I think that you should cash it though - they really wouldn't have sent it to you if they didn't want you to have it would they? ANd it's nothing to do with stupidness getting you into debt....firstly you weren't stupid, we've all done it, and second - that's not why they've given it to you - I'm sure they just want to help and let you enjoy your holiday.
So go on woman, accept it and have a fabby holiday! My ex-mil gave me a cheque, not as big, for £50 as her dear son has no money (even tho he's working:rolleyes:) - so she gives it and he says he'll pay her back - yeah right!!!!:D But that's his problem.... so now he's only £30 in debt to me...unitl the next weekly amount is due on Friday!

Anyway, glad you had a good day out in Bath - I can't wait til the new shops start to open, think some are this summer, exciting!:p

I've just been at home all weeknd....oh and 2 trips to Tesco....I know how to have fun:rotfl:

I was at Tescos today...spent rather more than I should have done...yet again!

The boyf's parents said that they really wanted me to have it, as I am having to pay out for both me and Ems and that we have never had a holiday together and that we deserved one. I still can't believe it!

Glad to hear the ex-mil has coughed up some £££! Sounds like a right ol' hoo ha! At least you have some £££ so he can end up owing her as opposed to you! :T

I wondered when all the shops would be opening! We spent most of the afternoon in HMV and then I took my dad for a drink in the pub! I wish I lived closer to him so we could go out for a drink and a chat more often. Bath soooo needs more shops so roll on the summer!

That's exactly what my dad said...it's a gift. I get sooooo funny about gifts which are money based...just feel like a bit of a silly begger really. I suppose that I should accept it and out it towards the flights and get them out of the way.

The good thing about the villa is that it has its own cooker and fridge etc so we can just grab a load of food at the start of the week and chow down at home! That should save on the costs too! :j
