    Heya everyone!

Huge thanks for the thanks! :) And Taka don't be a lurker  :j

Well have had a mental few days! The whole weekend was taken up with travelling everywhere and getting to see the mighty Metallica in London! I had the BEST TIME EVER!!! It was fantastic...only problem is know I really, really want to go and see them again at the Sonisphere festival I mentioned a while back....Ooooooh we shall see! Would be great 'bonding opportunity' for me and Em's as we both love our music, but will see what gives.

Anyhooos, should get a slight pay increase this month as have been in the post for 2 years so that's all good! Have been thinking about stuff I need to pay out for this year and the biggies are childcare over the summer, Car Insurance and Tax and the MOT too. Now I know that to make the Childcare and Insurance payments, as they are the most and will be due in about June and August means that really I need to try and put aside about £150 per month to cover them :( now that is a lot of money :(

Emily's ski-ing trip money is ticking along nicely. Least that will be done by the start of next year and then in April the bank loan is done so am counting down the months! I can't believe it is April already...mental!

Better pay the ol' Council Tax bill in a mo...boo!

Have got a busy few days planned. Boyf has managed to borrow a petrol strimmer and lawn mower so plan to get stuck into the garden on Friday after work. We are also hiring out a van so we can get rid of a load of junk at the tip, so that we can free up room! Have finally got rid of my old fish tank as a really lovely couple were looking for one to start breeding lizards so it was perfect for them! They placed an advert on the web and were very grateful for the tank...I was just grateful to get it out of the way! This year is gonna be the year that I get the house uptogether I think! Still need to paint Emily's ceiling...oooooh must do that soon and get it out of the way!

Hope everyone is well. I is off to beddie byes now...nighty night all xxx

    Heya everyone!

Just a mega quick post before bread! I have been soooooooo busy this weekend it is mental! Spent the whole of yesterday going from my home to the local tip with the boyf. He hired a big van and we made three trips full of rubbish so am finally getting this house in some sort of order! Boyf was an angel, helping me get rid of my junk...and then he fixed my blocked drain problem, leaking toilet overflow pipe and then helped fix the back gate on in the garden, but we need to rectify that as isn't too secure due to me having got the wrong size wood!!! But at least it will be ok for a bit! He has also strimmed all the weeds away and a lot of the garden too. So next weekend if the weather is nice, plan to tackle the garden properly!

I have spent thr whole of today cleaning...house looking ok! Apart from still need to work in the spare room and clean my bedroom too. But I am soooo shattered out from it all, I am ready to drop. So am off to bed.

I really need to sort out the budget for the month as have been very naughty and lazy and haven't done it. I hate not knowing where I am money wise.

Hope everyone has had a nice weekend, nighty night xxx

    Hi Donner

It is so now reading your posts these days (not that it wasn't before lol). You seemed to have created a real 'balance'. Its not all debt busting, you are having a life too. You are socialising, you are getting out and about with your boyfriend, you have decorated your daughters bedroom so therefore keeping up with mummy duties and also starting to make your house a home, plus you spend regular time with your dad and brother who obviously mean alot to you PLUS you are trying to look after yourself healthwise and starting the running again and your boyfriend seems more integrated in your life too?

If you look back to previous posts it was ALL about money (obviously) as you were so bogged down with the amount of cards, the amount of money and the reasons/guilt of getting in that position. You regularly posted about your house but had no inclination or money to do anything to it and you posted that your boyfriend was doing so much on his own and you always seemed to be stuck at home. You were still struggling with your driving tests (thank goodness that hurdle is over).

In life there will always be something to 'tackle' I guess but the most we can hope is that we don't become 'totally' consumed with what ever it is and we can create some kind of balance in other areas and keep moving forward. You really are creating balance and moving forward at the moment from your posts and its not always easy, so well done you :A:T A great example you are setting for your daughter.

    Heya everyone,

Hope we are all well in DFW land!

Thanks for the post KM! I agree, was lovely! Yep, I have noticed that if I start to concentrate on enjoying my life and not wishing it away, waiting for the next payday that I am a lot happier and life seems better. It is very easy when you are in this kinda mess to let it completely absorb you and take over, which isn't good at all.

This month has been a bit of a mare though as really haven't budgetted at all. Had quite a few thigs to pay out for already, birthdays, Ski- and French trip money, sorting the house etc, petrol as am using the car a bit more so it hasn't been a very good April so far. But life is like that, just gotta try my best. Don't reckon there will be any overpayment this month towards the HSBC card, but will have to see.

Looking forward to next month as am due to go up the next increment in my job so will get a little more cash.

Have noitced how good I am getting at this meal planning malarky! Have really noticed it recently, nice to start getting life and stuff in some sort of organised chaos! The house is looking an awful lot better now and really wanna try and keep it that way too. Thinking of drawing up some sort of chore list for me and Emily, so that we can keep it in a sort of controlled mess! But nice to start seeing the house as more of a home, not just somewhere I have my diner in and sleep! Determined to get the garden looking good too, ready for the BBQ weather...one day!

Haven't been on here for ages as hard to get on here what with Emily bebo-ing, facebooking and msn-ing all the time! So gonna catch up on a few diaries etc and see what we are all up to!

    xxx

  • I agree with KP it is lovely to see how motivated you have become to have that balance in your life.
As for madame, doesn't she know how essential this place is? says Bob muttering as teenagers are after computer again.lol
