  • The majority of my funds have been up over the last two days which is encouring, considering the last week. There still down on what they were a week ago though.I'm not expecting much over the next few months.Possibly theyll just fluctuate up and down keeping at a reasonible level then the markets will pick up.

Trading sideways today, fed cut on wed might kick off the next rally.

There seems to be a growing view that there may not be a fed cut on Wed (or maybe just by 25).

^Indeed, there is plenty enough liquidity around: another .25 reduction will make no difference in making banks lend to each other. And it will make no difference in people's mortgage payments. Load up the shorts: there is worse to come on the stock markets

How do you know there is worse to come? Its incredibly difficult to predict whether the markets are likely to worsen in the short term(over next year). If your talking about the long term view yes the markets at one stage will worsen.Crystal ball?
  • I think there is worse to come too, possibly much worse. It's tough knowing what to do though. Do you take everything out of equities and crystalise the loss, or keep it in and just hope it'll recover? I think I'm going to take about a quarter of what I have left in equities back out, as I really can't see any investments doing particularly well this year (not well enough to regain the losses) and there's the risk of even bigger losses.

    Not surging today!

China took a big hit overnight..
  • This could be the bounce that was mentioned last week, we lost, we gained and could this be the start of the bigger loss? Or could it just be Monday morning blues ...

How do you know there isn't ?

    Volatility is great fun !!!!

Sell the Rallies !!!!..................Buy the Dips !!!!

7-10% swings will be commonplace for the next few months

Of course when you are invested in Funds you can't do that, so just sit tight ;) and hope (pray !!!) If your investment time frame is 3 to 5 years or longer, just stop watching the markets cos it'll only give you an ulcer (or worse)
