The Northern Rock piggy bank must be filling up nicely!
They have just reduced the fixed rate to 6.35%0 -
Just to update. I have now phoned them and they confirmed they had opened an issue1 account in my name using my cheque. The representative said they were being late at sending out paperwork because of high demand, but that I might expect something in the post soon.
Poor show leaving customers to wait for weeks with no news what has happened to their deposits unless they go to the trouble of phoning. It was entirely predictable there would be a massive demand for 6.9%, and they could surely have send out a standard letter in the mean time to confirm they had received something from me, and/or put a newsflash on their website warning to expect delays.0 -
Does anyone know whether this account is still accepting deposits at the 6.9% rate?
I managed to get £1 in but now have £35k from the sale of my house to put in.
In light of events of recent days, I presume this is still a good account to put money in. Anyone think any differently?0 -

As I recall, you could only add money whilst the particular issue was open. 6.9 was issue one. Its now on issue 20 -
Any idea what the issue 2 rate is?0

No, you missed the boat with this one, sorry.
You can open the current bond, but it's paying 6.35% now, rather than 6.9%.0 -
That's actually issue 3 already. Issue 2 was 6.50%.Reclaimed thanks to this site:
£175 Abbey Mortgage Repayment Fee, £170.03 Capital One Bank Charges £418.07 Lloyds TSB Bank Charges, £2,671.55 Mis-sold Endowment Policy, all for OH0 -
I have still not had any sort of written or email confirmation, despite 4 weeks since posting my application, and 3 weeks since they cleared my cheque. I should have been looking forward to being able to log in to see the reward of my first months interest about now. I am getting seriously annoyed at this shambles.:mad:0
