    Decent Coffee is a must.

    chocolate and loo roll
Sainsburys do a good value choc. I dont eat much anyway so save the Cadburys to an occasional treat.

Loo roll. - well we all know what it's for so I no longer see the point of spening on dear stuff. Best value stuff I get here is Wilkos at 6 for 64p.Perfectly acceptable if you dont insist on quilted which I never found any good anyway.

Herbal Essences shampoo and conditioner - wierd but I find it's the only one that 'works' on my hair
I used to insist on this having used it since it was very first launched in this country many many years ago. However since they brought out the new and improved range I find it no longer leaves me hair as soft, as shiny or in as good condition as it used to.

Now looking for a suitably priced alternative... Pantene was ok from a free trial but very expensive and Tresemme is ok too but not at nearly £5 a bottle. Wilkos sometimes sell it for £1.97 tho which is kinda better. Years ago Sainsburys did a cheap own brand shampoo range (this is before Value days)which left my hair in excellent nick..

Ta Bitsy -it's the sizing of the picture that I found complicated. I don't think I'll change it people might not recognise me:rotfl:

I know what you mean - I'm not very good at remembering usernames so I tend to associate people with their avatars.

have you tried Lush products? - their green credentials are very good - not just a marketing gimmick like some companies.

my no compromise areas are: tea, coffee, wine - I would rather drink less of a good quality beverage than lots of a cheaper one that makes me feel ill.

my family made me promise to only buy free range chicken a few years ago - and I have to say that although it is more expensive I think the quality is better and the rubber chicken stretches much further as there is more meat and less fat
    weaving through the chaos...
  • Ooh this is something I'm interested in. Which companies do you use? Lush?
Oh my god I wrote a post and my connection failed and I lost it. Short version:
    Lush
    MMU Cosmetics
    Bodyline/Lovely Bubbly
    BPAL

Plus Astonish and Co-op for household bunny friendly.

Mayo - has to be Hellmans (again not "light" either)
Free Range eggs - (would feel guilty buying anything else)
    good quality Sauasges
Toothpaste - has to be colgate for us and my boys like the Aquafresh for kids
Quailty Washing powders and softeners. (although i will swap between the ones on offer)
Coffee - i don't drink it but hubby is very particular - has to be Nescafe Gold blend! :)
Cereals - will buy own brand Bran Flakes - but have to have Shreddies and Cheerios for the boys (this is my choice not theirs - they are only 3 and nearly 5) :)

For me its poper hellmans mayo full fat version, I would rather have a small amount than have light/extra light. Good meat from either costco or waitrose our butcher closed. And for DH it would be marmite he will not touch shops own brand. We shop in costcos so buy branded goods in bulk but you need to check its cheaper there than the supermarket. I am quite sad as I check what we need before going there and then compare the prices with mysupermarket.

Coffee, tho I now don't drink a lot of it these days and now only use decaff. The only instant coffee I've found that tastes anything like proper ground coffee, but quicker to do is Carte Noir. The decaff is lovely. I won't buy anything else having tried all the others, sorry DE and Kenco fans.
Bless Martin's Little Cotton Socks. I thank him for giving us MSE. Look what its grown into!
