Ooh this is something I'm interested in. Which companies do you use? Lush?0 -
Free range eggs
Milk - buy Calon Wen Welsh organic
Cheese - a little bit of good quality cheese goes a long way (if OH doesn't get his hands on it that is)
Washing detergent - used to like surf but now I buy ecover
Ground coffee - but this is considered a seriously luxury to have as a treat on Sunday mornings - a bag will last me months!
Actually there's not a lot I won't compromise on! Being a student and then saving madly for a deposit for a house has meant a tiny budget for about 5 years! I don't know what I'd do if I actually had money to spend! :rotfl:0 -
Coffee - Douwe Egberts or nothing!
Loo roll - value is just false economy!
Think thats it....I've even developed a taste for Mr T's cheap rose :rotfl:Paddle #8 DFW Nerd #12840 -

I thought Body Shop were against animal testing, or am I just being a sucker for their marketing? :huh:
Also, I thought I was fairly MSE but I am looking at everyone's lists of non-compromise and agreeing with most of them! Makes my list quite long0 -
I won't compromise on:
* shoes for the children (HAS to be Clarks)
* having a good haircut and sometimes colour from my friend Laura .... she's more expensive but does a lovely job!
* using John Frieda shampoo
* Heinz tomato sauce
* Hellman's mayonnaise
* Cadbury's hot chocolate
* nice meat and sausages
Oh dear, looks like I'm a bit picky doesn't itFlymarkeeteer: £168 and counting0 -

I dont compromise on anything. If the kids or I want or need something then we get it. I dont impulse buy and have struggled, but so far managed, to make the kids have the same approach to buying things.
I always look around and see if I can get the same thing cheaper elsewhere. I like something even more if I have saved up for it.
I like to be as mse as poss but wont make life a misery for it.0 -

Anita Roddick (RIP) sold the company to L'Oreal a few years ago.Put the kettle on.0 -
I used to say a lot of things - Tetley Teabags, toothpaste,washing up liquid,shampoo,eggs that werent free range, imperial Leather soap, Heinz beans etc. All of which I have downgraded to an adequate solution.(tho dont tell my veggy flatmate when I get eggs are he still insisits on the dear free range ones- personally I am not happy about having to make that downgrade choice either) Recently I think I hit the last one.. tho cant remember what it was.
I dont eat mayo etc so think the only one left is Marmite. I can't do wihout that.What Would Bill Buchanan Do?0
