I compromise on pretty much everything, and my Mum thinks it is hilarious as I was a snob when I was a teenager and wouldn't be seen dead with my Mum is she was even carrying a carrier bag from Netto!
Its funny how much less fussy you get when its your money!
The only thing I dont like to compromise on is Teabags - I love Yorkshire Tea and no other comes close, I generally stock up when its on offer but am always happy to pay full price if I have to.You can stand there and agonize........

With regards to animal testing on cosmetic products, the EU cosmetics directive banned animal testing a few years ago, so NO cosmetics now are allowed to be tested on animals.
HOWEVER, even the companies that have never tested on animals, use ingredients that HAVE at some point, been tested on animals.
So, don't fall for the hype!
And things I won't compromise on are free range chicken and eggs, good local meat from the butcher, fair trade tea and coffee and Hellmans mayo as they use free range eggs.0 -
Free Range Eggs (my pet peeve - saw a well dressed middle aged couple with some very expensive cheeses and other luxury goods in their basket pick up a dozen value eggs that had "From Battery Hens" in big letters on the box)
Butter (Wheelbarrow or Lurpak)
Freedom Food Chicken & Meat for carnivorous OH
Anything to do with my dog. Wouldn't compromise his well-being to save a few quid.
Nice to see so many replies saying Free Range Eggs. Agree about the Carte Noir too.Love the animals: God has given them the rudiments of thought and joy untroubled. Do not trouble their joy, don't harrass them, don't deprive them of their happiness.0 -
I used to say a lot of things - Tetley Teabags, toothpaste, washing up liquid, shampoo, eggs that werent free range, imperial Leather soap, Heinz beans etc. All of which I have downgraded to an adequate solution.(tho dont tell my veggy flatmate when I get eggs are he still insisits on the dear free range ones- personally I am not happy about having to make that downgrade choice either) Recently I think I hit the last one.. tho cant remember what it was.
I dont eat mayo etc so think the only one left is Marmite. I can't do wihout that.Less is more0 -
I will compromise on most things....but not Gold Blend, Galaxy or toilet rolls. I just think value toilet rolls are false economy!Less is more0

Cravendale, lasts for ages so can stock up- although it costs more it saves me nipping to the shop for milk and buying other stuff!
Local steak mince- none of that supermarket carp! In fact most meats tbh!
Chicken friendly eggs....barn at the least, ideally free range!Ermutigung wirkt immer besser als Verurteilung.

Yes, I meant on finished products, but the fact still remains that the individual ingredients would have been tested on animals at some point in the past.0

Reverbe have you tried Asda's yeast extract? £1.68 compared to Marmite at £2.03!
Just remembered what my last wont compromise was... Warburtons bread. As is the case with a lot of things, Tescos Value bread isnt half as good but serves the purpose..right now every penny counts and we have to put up with many sacrifices til th whole situation improves...paying off debts and having somewhere to rest my head at night is more important right now than taste and quality of thingsWhat Would Bill Buchanan Do?0
