    Well done advent and tim - I think between you, you have successfully managed to lower the tone brilliantly in the last 12 hours or so, and all completely without my intervention ;)

    I would indeed not be surprised to learn that you decided to shoot yourselves or join a mass suicide not on reaching 50, but as soon as the Quidco link for either appears with an offer of cashback on the deal :D

    How would it be tracked I wonder? Would anyone notice? Or would it just be a smudge on the ground at which people would point and say "There is the mark of a man that followed Quidco till the end of his days"?

    Oh well, dinglebert, until that day, and seeing your obvious contentedness, I can agree that Quidco must indeed be a way of spreading happiness amongst people who perhaps can't face negotiating their own discount / like to re-discover the free lunch. But it's not for me. On the insurance front for example, it just so happens that I don't like Privilege or indeed any other Royal Bank of Scotland enterprise very much.

    Coincidentally, a mere 48 hours ago I re-negotiated my motor insurance renewal with my preferred insurer (I am lucky in that I can differentiate exquisitely between insurers and their products when most people might not know where to start - my gain).

    Anyway, I negotiated a £164 discount over the price they first thought of which would otherwise have been about the same as last year. Papers for it arrived today. And that discount is safe in my pocket with no Quidco link or tracking in sight. Maybe I should now gamble it on some online bingo and then thank Quidco if I win, or MSE? Who do I thank if I lose? advent1122 or MSE perhaps?

    I'll think I'll actually pass on that opportunity, but don't let me put you all off splashing about doing whatever floats your boat... :p

    No Clash Club spam today - maybe SHOP.COM turned it off. Glad someone might have got the message.

    I agree, we could get a group of us from here and just have a mass suicide if we become like that.

    I expect pb will know how to do that better than us as well and will give some detailed explanation into the subject soon.

    I personally think we should all buy a giant freezer via a Quidco link from shop.com and all sit in it and freeze to death. That would be slightly different from they way most people have a mass suicide.

    If it failed, would we able to sue Quidco?!!

    Don't forget it's now MSE's fault for recommending Quidco, and of course as members of the MSE forum we're all liable ourselves to be sued so we should all sue each other.

    Browntoa, I take it from the board guide message on all your posts that you are or have once been a life insurance or pensions advisor.........I am 50 years old and have met many of that type. I can say that without exception as members of the genre, I have found them to be a slippery bunch of operators

    Well your post has provided some entertainment value if not much else :beer:

    Can't help it - sorry guys.

    Currys & Comet do freezers, and they are on quidco.

    Haven't checked particular models.

    I have bought stuff through quidco. I have only bought stuff I was going to get anyway after shopping around, haven't bothered with bingo etc and the few quid I've got has been as good in my pocket as anyone elses.

    By the way, PB, if you do online shopping at Tescos you can get cashback through quidco to a max of £5 per time. Of course, if they pack grapefruit instead of peaches, it will be quidco's fault.

    I prefer Sainsbury's anyway. I wish their groceries would go on quidco, I would probably get back the delivery charge.
    Always another chapter

    I think theres a link to Quidco on this site. Does that make it this sites fault as well then? Because it's got exactly the same relationship with Quidco as Quidco has with shop.com.

    You cant blame Quidco as others have said. Assuming the spam did originally come from something to do with Shop.com then your complaint is with them and not Quidco.

    I been a member of Quidco for almost 3 years I value my privacy I have yet to have any spam from companies I use via Quidco or other cashback sites. I buy a lot from the net and have specific email addys for spam merchants if I suspect even remotely that I may get unwanted mail I sue that email addy. I alos make sure I tick the box not to be contacted via 3rd parties etc.

    Quidco are only a 3rd party theres actually another party involved between you and shop.com

    Peter--->Quidco--->affiliate merchant--->the shop

    Peter--->Money Saving Expert--->affiliate merchant--->Quidco

    Which proves it's just as much this sites fault, or will he finally get it!
