HHC was semi productive, got the WM on, dishes done and S&S in kitchen. Returned things to their rightful places. Not much more, on a bit of a go slow today. Hope your LO is better soon shell. And hope all goes well with your dad likklegibbon.

Why is the to do lost monday to thursday? no things to do on fri to sun?
What are the main things for a daily routine?
Is this all you have to do to keep on top of the housework?
    thanks

The list is added to daily.. Monday to Friday.. then we have a short weekend list which is optional.. and the new thread is posted Sunday evening with Mondays list.

Daily lists are things like washing machine, dishwasher, S&S (swish and swipe) over high use areas such as the kitchen and bathroom That days reminders of stuff like appointments and meetings are also added.

The main reasons for a daily routine is the knowledge that others are having to suffer like I am.. and it is good to see things struck off the list and it is very encouraging knowing others are here doing the same and hate it as much as I do yet supporting each other through it.. cos it is quite traumatic!

Yes this is all I do.. no I'm not on top of the housework.. but at least I do SOME.. which is more than I would have done before!! Normally the house would devolve into a landfill and then we would have a mad cleanup weekend and do all of it in one go.. every 4-6 weeks!

I've been through the cupboard upstairs. Not much to go in the bin, some paperwork for recycling (from DD's schoolwork, she's 23 now I don't think she'll miss that). A couple of things to relocate and a big bag of cables and stuff. I bet a lot of it is well out of date so I need DH to go through it (with me nagging so he doesn't just shove it all back in). I can accept that some of it could be useful one day (oh, those words) but not as much as we've got.

    Afternoon happy Dustykins here.

The sun is shining, boots took all my coupons so great bargins and I have brought a neck support pillow in Lidl as they had no raspberry canes.

Wish I could go out and garden but I need to get a couple of things on ebay to pay for today's purchases. Mother coming over in an hour so any chance of acheiving anything after that are zero.

Kettle on if anyone wants one and then I am turbolisting - I so wish I was as good at it as you pigpen.

    tracey enjoy your lunch
mudbath thanks for your kind words and enjoy your magazine
shell you know that won't make you really happy so no you can't have the jaffa cakes think of something else for you to enjoy!
Embb hope the job is not too tiring - proud of you for getting out there girl.

My HHC at 11 turned into a 90min challenge but I did -
    s&s kitchen
    epty DW
put on WM and empty when finished
    cleaned bath, toilet & sink
I then set to on the two cupboards which are in there and filled a bin bag with rubbish, creams bubble baths etc which have been there dont know how long but they have gone know.
    hoovered in all corners
    cleaned blind and window

a very productive time and its another room to cross off my list.

Off for lunch and then I am going to make a head start on the girls bedrooms.

I decided to go back to bed this morning with DS2.

And I woke up to this...

So today is kids bedroom day....

Pigpen The Tax credits once decided we had been over paid, dropped our payment from £70 odd to £7!!! And that was to pay childcare! Luckily we *touch wood* have had no other problems, but I usually call them up every few months with an update of what DH has made so far.

Everyone who got a double payment of tax credits last week is now having their weekly payment reduced.. and no they aren't sending letters out!!

Thanks pigpen. I've just checked my account and found I had two payments within 4 days. So I expect that will get taken out of my forthcoming payment  . OH isn't working now as he handed in his notice and is a "student". So in four years time hopefully he'll be a teacher. ATM we're on my PT wages and some tax credit.

Dustykitten - I'll have a cup of tea, white no sugar (sweet enough :p ) thank you!!

tiamai_d - that looks just like my children's room only tidier!!!.

I think I'll ebay some things next time as I find January is always a little slow.

    Afternoon everyone,

I'm having one of those 'wading through treacle' days... I made a good start by washing up immediately after the school run, and then cleaning the cloakroom. Then my sister rang, and there's so much to discuss, it took until coffee. They have visited another care home, which seems very nice, so if the assessments and care plan people get a move on, they could have a room for mum. The difficulty is whether mum qualifies for the NHS paying the continuing nursing care. Honestly, if she doesn't, I really wonder what you would need wrong with you in order to qualify. I feel a bit guilty that I'm not able to do more, as it seems to all fall on my sister and brother, but she does know if she rang and said come now, I'd drop everything immediately.

I've listed lots on freecycle, so there's hundreds of emails and phone calls to sort, and then I had a call f rom the supply teaching agency. Apparently, the CRB check needs to be done and paid for again as I haven't been in school since last April, so they need to cover the period in between. I did have a mini moan, as I'm a very law abiding citizen, and the only contact I've had with the police this year is as a witness...I wouldn't have been so cross if I hadn't read an article just this week about two teachers in a not far away school who have been suspended for 'immoral earnings' ... So the CRB check is obviously working for people in schools then isn't it??

Okay, another freecycle item just collected, and another due in 15 minutes, so I'm going to stay on here until then, and then load up the car with another load for the tip. I've nearly finished the garage, and I'm quite pleased. OH spent an hour sorting his tools and DIY stuff yesterday evening - and I suspect putting back some of the stuff on the chucking out pile - so I shall be taking that out again!

I'm now going to abandon any idea of doing the bathroom today, and concentrate on the garage. I'm sure you''ll let me off for one day lil_me!! I was just getting very cross and stressy because of all the interrruptions, but taking the bathroom off the list makes it a bit more manageabl

dustykitten - what would we do without you to look after us all?? I'm not being a martyr here, but a crosspatch, but I will take 30 minutes for me - knitting my second sock I think, as it hasn't brightened up as promised, and I don't feel like gardening, although a couple of hours' digging would probably be the best thing for me to do!

licklegibbon - good wishes for you and your dad. Kick up a fuss if you're not happy with his care - politely, but a fuss nonetheless.

shell - chuck those jaffa cakes over here, I need some chocolate!

pigpen - thank you for the supportive comments re DD. She's in the post.:D

kaz - OH always says Yes to the children, but means no, and I always say No and mean No. We do however have a firm agreement that we never say the children can or can't do something, unless we've checked with each other. Which in fact means, they don't get to do it unless I say yes. You can always say that you'll think about it for five minutes/a week/a month and then give an answer. Apparently my sister says 'In a minute', so my nephew checks whether that means he can do it or is it a mummy minute, which means the same as no!!
It is never too late to become what you were always intended to be
