    Good morning everyone,

I was so inspired by all of your posts yesterday that I went home and cleaned, de-cluttered a box, made dinner, got Spare room ready for IL's staying tonight and all while watching Everton loose... I can't wait to start flying properly, next week. Last night needed to be done as we have guests tonight so, it was only an 'on the surface' clean. I did get 2 loads of washing done, though! Yipee!

lil_me - thanks for your help re: paperwork. The paperwork you have filed for 2007, what does that consist of? Is it everything, ie: phone bills, mobile bills, gas, elec, Sky TV, Credit cards, TV license, insurance (etc....)?? I'm just wondering if there is some bits that don't really need to be kept or should I keep it all for one year and then chuck it?

I'm glad there are others on here who work FT and fly in the evening!

I've told my OH that I have joined this forum and he doesn't believe I'm going to keep up with it. My chance to prove him wrong - again! Men, eh??? :p

    Hi ashbart

Another thing to remember when you are first starting is that things take longer if they've not been done for a while. When "clean windows" or "clean oven" first appeared on the lists, it would take me ages to wipe all the grot off the frames, or soak the oven overnight, but once it's ticking over everything just needs a quick wipe.

So don't be too hard on yourself when you start!

The other useful tip I picked up on here was that things don't take as long as you think. I was so used to having to vacuum the whole house in one go, that I thought vacuuming was a major job that took ages. But now I come in from work, put the kettle on and pick up the vaccum cleaner. 5 minutes later I'm starting on dinner - it just doesn't take as long as I thought broken down into chunks!

Have fun - I love my clean house!

My hugs to others who are feeling a bit downtrodden. I get bogged down sometimes because I don't think others are pulling their weight, but I'm a bit gobby, so I speak my mind at the time and it doesn't fester. DH will then do some ironing for a while until the next time he needs reminding....

However, this helps me: I clean my house just for me. I love it when it's all sparkly, and I feel proud. Do it for you, too, not just for the family.

Mind you, I'd love it if my DH would learn to cook, sometimes I'm too shattered to cook, so we end up having take away *sigh*

    Kisses xxx

    Hi rumbly!

I must admit, I have read a few things like 'clean skirting boards' and thought gee- that's going to take a while....! Hopefully I'll get the swing of it soon!

Thanks for your post! I can't wait to have a clean house, too! Normally, all of my cleaning is done on a Saturday and by Tuesday - I almost wish I hadn't bothered! I will have to make sure OH learns where the dirty washing goes. The floor is no longer an option...

OK, I've cleaned the cat snot off the inside of the kitchen window and the dog mud off the outside of the back door. It's lovely to see the sun but it doesn't half show up the dirt! :D

Going upstairs to sort through another top box in the wardrobe next. Must be ruthless. I can't believe we NEED everything that's in there.

    Hi all

Late signing in today. Littley not so good has a temp and not been eating, no breakfast again this am and temp of 39.5 last night. Said she had a sore throat too so too DD1 to school and then went to open clinic. Only a 40 min wait so not too bad at all. Plus had quality reading time with little whilst waiting:D . Guess what the doc said "its viral" - I dont remember hearing those words when i was little. It now seems like everything is viral just so they can save the cost of the anti-biotics etc  . Anyway keeping her off nursery today as she looks rough and needs lots of cuddles, was hoping she would nod off but Chitty Chitty Bang Bang didnt do the trip so now onto Barbie magic of the rainbow - lovely:rolleyes: .

I have had a quick flick through with the hoover and kitchen s&s etc so house looking good. Did good clean in bathroom yesterday and hoovered all the nooks and crannies this morning so looking good - just the shower curtain to do.

Just gonna have some lunch and maybe do half hour ironing, think titchy is on the verge of nodding off so will stay still for 5 mins. Best phone nursery too. I am hoping to keep her temp down as I really dont want a throwing up due to temp flashes - which is what usually happens, best get some spare bedding out for tonight just in case.

We have sunshine here today:j , Dusty thanks for your comments does eating half a pack of jaffa cakes count as "just for me":o . I really cannot get my head into healthy eating at the mo.
  • Have done my HHE and had brekkie

    Today's list:
    TD bedding from yesterday
    Clean loo and floor
    Clean bathroom floor
    Clean shower/bath
    Clean sink
    Wipe keyboard, monitor and mouse

Walk into village to pay OH's CC
Pick up niece from Auntie's at 1630
Buy remote control for hospital TV

Had some bad news last night - they've operated on Dad's foot again - the maggots still left some poison that hasn't completely shifted - if the operation doesn't work this time, they are going to have to amputate his foot speechless-smiley-040.gif - think the infection in his foot would stand a better chance of going if they changed the flippin' bandages every day instead of leaving it for 3 days in a row. That and the fact he's having to hobble to the loo on it because they haven't let him use a crutch angry-smiley-030.gif

  • I am new to this. I signed up to the flylady emails before christmas but received far too many emails a day and got fed up with the going on about shining your sink , also the american over the topness of it all peed me off. But this seems much more manageable. So a few questions:
Why is the to do lost monday to thursday? no things to do on fri to sun?
What are the main things for a daily routine?
Is this all you have to do to keep on top of the housework?
    thanks

Lil_me puts up the new list every evening so tonight she'll add the jobs for Friday onto the 1st post.
There's also an optional list for weekends if you want to be really keen.

There's a new FlyLady thread every week and it usually starts on a Sunday afternoon. If you want to join in, don't worry about catching up - the rooms all roll around again next week
