    Hiya
I'm new to this site but have been reading for a while and think this thread looks fantastic so I hope you don't mind if I join in. I've managed level one and two today and will try to work out how to post lists and things in the comings days. Hello to everyone!

DS1 and DS2 jumping for joy as school shut tomorrow due to no heating - I am so not impressed!

  • I've come home early from work today - i.e. when i have finished rather than hours later. Not cos i got all my work done, but because the roads round here were lethal this morning. I nearly went off the road twice cos of the nutters coming the other way absolutely engulfing my car in water and not being able to see the road - scary stuff. So i thought i would come home at 2: 30 and not with the usual rush hour.

since coming in i have made a cuppa and got the WM on but that is about it.

4 lessons of very wet and grumpy kids today. they wanted to go home as a lot of the car parks and courtyards were flooded. they were pumping it as i left. i had lost the will to live so i'm going to do nothing for a few hours until after charlie's bedtime - oh, except, tea time , bath time and bed time routine. We never get to stop do we.

    Then i will need to:
make potato wedges to go with gammon and pineapple for our dinner - 20 mins
    empty airers - 10 mins
hang up load of washing - 5 mins
plan my 3 lessons out for tomorrow - 1-2 hours
make sure we all have something to wear tomorrow - 10 mins
check my coursework against my mark book as i need to know which kids have poor/no coursework ready for the meeting tomorrow - 30 mins
mark next 8 books from the y8 set i was unhappy with yesterday - didn't get any done in break/lunch today cos i had too little time to sort out lessons resources/practical equipment between lessons - 1 hour
    have a bath - 10 mins
be in bed before 11 as i am poopered.

god - looking at that list i had best work fast once charlie is in bed, as there is getting on for 41/2 hours of stuff if it takes the maximum amount of time - will try to do some of it when i bath charlie.

    Michelle, x

so, where's that broom then pigpen????
  • Welcome Mudbath :hello: - it's a friendly forum but we're all nuts

LJD - what can I say other than the person who is harassing you is a slimeball - hang on in there and we'll be supportive, no matter what your name is :grouphug:.

Michelle - you'll wear yourself out. Is your observed lesson out of the way? Get that early night

Pigpen - are Boots replacing the missing items as well as the broken foundation?
    I'd rather be watching CSI!

    Finally got in :)
I'm now officially attuned to Reiki I :T I also had my first hour session from a fellow student with wonderful results. I signed up for the Second Degree later this year.

pigpen I got 2 CTC payments last week as well, didn't know what was going on till today I got a letter saying I'm getting one payment of £xx on Thurs the 17th and then a lower payment every tues (usual day for me) leading up to April. I think it was something to do with them miscalculating last time or something, cos we had a letter a few months ago saying they were "looking into some miscalculation or something" and I thought "ay-up sounds like I will be repaying some money. so fingers crossed that's sorted now and I will owe them nothing (you too by the sound of it hopefully).

    Finished the kitchen!

Dishes washed, dryed and put away
Counters S&S (bleached them last night)
    Cupboard fronts wiped down
    Floor mopped
    Kick boards cleaned
    Rubbish out

:coffee: and the kids told to go play in the room.

witchypoo I have been thinking of looking into Reiki myself. Silly question, but do you have to massage at the same time? I have mild arthritis in my fingers and wrists so actual massage would hurt. And is it through a college or practitioner your training with?

Hi folks and welcome to all the newbies!
I have just posted on last weeks. I don't know where I left my brain.
We had no power almost all day and now have power and loads of snow! So no washing vacuuming or cleaning done but lots of paper sorting until it got too dark, then managed my tax return and hopefully they will send me some tax back. Tnhey have owed DH since September but haven't returned it yet. It's about £200 too.

LJD hugs to you. Good luck on shaking off the troublemaker.

DS3 is being sent home early because of severe weather, just hope we can get to him in the snow. Must go and investigate.

I have also taken two car loads to the tip, one car load to the charity shop, and at least another car load on freecycle, with three things to be collected today!:D My garage will have enough room for the delivery come Friday! It may even have room for a car in the future, for the first time since we moved here over 20 years ago... I did some knitting too.

embb - best of luck for the interview
lilo - hope today goes well for you
    moam - happy belated birthday!
Shell - I'm sorry to hear of the hospital problems. It sounds horribly familiar though. We found that we had to read mum's entire record every time we went in. She has eyedrops, which they marked as not being able to give as they were out of stock , As we pointed out, they were in her medecine locker, along with the antibiotics they were also failing to give her. Every time we went in, we found the buzzer on the floor - she is unable to call out very loud, and cannot move, how exactly did they expect her to get their attention if she needed to? In the end, I suggested that we tied it to the bedrail every time - it worked, as well as my father telling them nicely every day...I'm truly appalled at how poor the treatment of the elderly patients is - actually, my experience with DS1 last year was no better. After waiting for 6 hours, he hadn't even been offered a glass of water...

On a more cheerful note, welcome to the newbies! Take it easily to begin with, as all the rooms come around again next week. If you don't feel you've done much, remember how long it took to get in that state - it won't be back to how you want in just one day, but it will be sooner than you think!
It is never too late to become what you were always intended to be

Back from ballet, just about survived. Had to listen to some Mum shouting at her kid to do their homework for 40 mins. My gosh that place is like a cattle shed - still the girls love it. Will take my highway code with me next week and get some studying done at the same time (any earphones for my phone so i can listen to music;) ).

French stick worked out well so will do that again - will see what DH verdict is when he gets in later.

Feeling tired today so early night on the cards me thinks, maybe watch a DVD in bed (the end of the one we watched last night might be an idea as I missed the last half hour at least due to nodding off:rotfl: ).

Tea, another quick tidy and thats pretty much it for me.

Serena - seems your hospital is as bad and the one NIL is in. Hoping for some better news this evening. I feel for anyone in hospital who has no family visiting to notice the "lack" of treatment.
