Joannasmum - We spent years on these holidays and loved every minute of them. If you know where you want to go and what type of camp site you want, I will tell if you if stayed there (we went to many) and what we thought. They certainly were (and probably still are) value for money and if you can go slightly out of peak times have extras.
Tired_Mum - Fingers crossed for Zak.
dlb - keep going
Take care

Hi all
just popping back now that i`ve caught up.
Tired mum i really hope that Zac is ok, let us know how he goes on.
I remember panicking when one of my oldies couldn`t get up and it turned out his legs stiffened up when laying in the same position for a while or after a walk and he just couldn`t manage to get up off the laminate without help as he slipped about and couldn`t get a grip.
He still needs helping sometimes but i was so scared the first time i saw him like it. Fingers crossed that it`s something and nothing.

Hi, well i'm pretty cross, as when I got home from collecting Miss Twit, about 7.15, we have no water.
I have phoned United Utilities and there is some sort of problem in the area.
Fortunately we had a 5L bottle of water in the cupboard, I had kept looking at it, deciding if it's days were numbered as it was using valuable space. Thank goodness I didn't.
I just hope it's back on for morning or we could be washing in a cup of water each.
Moan over, I hope Zac is ok Tired mum.
Keep up the good work Dlb.Official DFW Nerd Club - Member no: 203.0 -

I hope your water is back on soon, ours was off a short time ago and it was awful, it`s the no chance to plan in advance that gets me lol.
One tip if it`s not back on in the morning is to send everyone out to w**k/school with empty bottles to fill from taps and bring home or take empty flasks to w**k to fill with hot water just before leaving to bring back home.
HTH

Whatatwit I'm sorry you have no water-lucky you had a bottle of water-at least you can have a cuppa!!
Hi SunnyDay-Iwhat a good idea, I wouldn't have thought of sending everyone out with empty vessels to fill up!!!
Right, I had better go up to bed. I'l just fill the kettle before I go-just in case. lol

I think I'll start keeping a couple of those 5L bottles in the house just in case, don't want to get caught short again.
Having just been to the loo and automatically flushed, I now think I should keep a water butt in the garden for things like that.
3 hours now and still no water.Official DFW Nerd Club - Member no: 203.0 -
I don't often pop in here, but I thought it the best place to post.
I got my SC last week, and have only used it a couple of times. I was so reluctant to buy one because we aren't huge into meaty stews, but I have dioscovered how versatile it is.
Today I made sticky toffee apple pudding in it. My OH (skeptical about getting a slow cooker) came through and said 'well, that alone justifies getting the slow cooker'.
My only complaint with it was the recipe was just too much - and of course I forced it all down and felt worse for it afterwards! Oh well...0
