    Hello everyone :hello:

DH and I have just come back from a 7 mile walk. Well, that's what my pedometer is saying AND I did 12,000 steps. :j :j I lost a whole 2lbs last week and I feel as though the weight loss is going well - even though I've only lost 2lbs, it's a definite start. :)

We went to watch Leicester play yesterday. They actually turned up mentally as well as physically :j :j. At this rate they may actually still be in the top flight next season. :D

Before the game, DH wanted to go to get a new suit. He'd made a choice between 2, but decided that he could make a proper decision without me! Needless to say, the one that he bought is the one that he preferred all along!

My mum was telling me yesterday about someone who plays tennis with her. Apparently she never cooks for herself (not my mum as she trained in catering and hospitality!) and gets all her ready meals etc from M&S. Every "tournament" that they have (for tournament read "turning up for a gossip with a tennis racket in hand") they serve HM soup and HM apple pie with cream. The last "tournament" they had minestrone soup and the woman who doesn't cook screamed in horror at the pasta in the minestrone soup! :rotfl:

Anyway, I've got a cuppa waiting for me and then we're off to have lunch at a friend's house.

    Have a great Sunday everyone.

    Vicky

:j keep up the good work dlb!

  • Hi all
We had a very late night last night, didn't get to bed til gone 1!!!
I'm completely flummoxed by how complicated some people's lives are, our friends are in a nightmare situation financially, mainly down to the fact that neither of them want to work, they'd rather spend time on their hobbies. Wouldn't we all. To add to their problems, the husband has just admitted to having a 27 year affair & 3 extra children. Oh & a couple of inbetween flings as well. We ended up me in the kitchen with the wife & my hubby in the lounge with her hubby. It was only meant to be a few drinks & a chat with people we haven't seen for a while.

Annibooklover & Redruby, my lodger is 27, so it must be insanity not just youthful stupidity, lol.

Plans for today, more decluttering, now the last lots been collected, a quick wipeover of the floors & surfaces & then a very early night. Not sure what we will eat, whatever hubby want I expect as I'm too tired to think straight, lol.
    Hugs Hester

    Afternoon all,

Big news here is that it is not raining to-day! We have had so many wet days now that I have almost despaired of getting my gardening stuff going, but maybe to-morrow if it stays dry....really want to get things going, have onions coming on slowly which I sowed in October and we always have lettuce/salad greens of some kind so want to keep things on a roll, for both taste and price...not seeing any of your 19c packets Mrs MC but at any price the crop works out better than bought.

DGS2 decided that I should get his breakfast this morning so we had a great rough and tumble as I refused to get up...he reckoned that both Daide! and Mammy were not happy to get it for him so I was the only other option!

We are having bacon, chicken, cabbage, broccoli and celery for dinner, with stuffing and if I am in the humour some roast potatoes. Pudding is going to be a mixture of whatever sweet stuff we still have!

Knitting will be my longest occupation to-day, didn't seem to get round to any yesterday so will settle myself nicely after dinner and not move for the rest of the day!

    Have a good day all

Morning all. Feel much better and more positive today...............actually made a start on sorting out my drawers in the bedroom............cleared out some stuff for charity shop, earmarked other bits for 'pressies'.........now I can actually see what I've got................lol
And now I feel I can start 'letting go' of my Dad a bit. I kept just about everything he every touched at or looked at after he died and now I think I can start to thin out the boxes of endlless 'stuff' that was my Dad. I'll keep the personall bits of course but there's other stuff ...........well I don't know why I hung on to it for so long. Still got two shoe boxes and two little wooden boxes to go through.................if the bits in them make me smile I'll keep them otherwise they either go to my kids or to maybe charity shop.
OH is wearing his reading specs with pride and a smile so hope thats his 'January blues' feeling gone...............till 'February blues' set in of course............lol

Freecycle lady who wanted material didn't want mine:confused: OH had just loaded the car for the charity shop and gone to the pub for his Sunday pint or several and I had e mail to say she got enough from someone in her village. So OH will have some more bags to load on the car..............lol

Our lads behaving................in fact it's unnerving he's being so good................lol Wonder how long it will last ?

Hope you all have a good day and hugs ((((((((:o ))))))))))) to all those who need them.

    Morning everyone

    Afternoon all!

Had a rubbish night of sleep. Little kitten escaped and ended up on my bed, knocking a glass of water from the bedside table all over my pillow, mattress and me in the middle of the night! Grhhhhh!

Has been a good ebaying couple of days- I've made £170 so far (minus some ebay fees etc) which I'm happy about. I now can't think of anything else to sell and have been reviewing the Up Your Income article and haven't found anything that really applies to me!

Tea tonight is going to be pasta with chilli and garlic. I might use crispy fried breadcrumbs as a topping instead of Parmesan. I've seen it done a coupled of times on tv and it looks yummy (and cheaper than cheese!)

Afternoon...........have not read the daily yet.

At the fabric warehouse this morning, managed to spend £35, so have to sell that much at the craft fair!!! Its a horrid rainy day, so grey and depressing......I am further depressing myself by spending over an hour ironing that awful cutwork duvet cover and pillowcases etc.........I have done the prep for supper, roast chicken, roast spuds and celariac, carrots cabbage and braised leek, stuffing.........jelly and icecream for dessert....also have the breadmaker on, we need bread for the morning.

I was hoping to get at some sewing but it looks like tomorrow afternoon before I will get to it, tomorrow is house clean day........its not too bad but I need to get the threads off the carpet before I put more on.

Not much else to report really, I will just be glad when this blooming rain stops, I hope none of you are too badly affected by floods.
    Was 13st 8 lbs,Now 12st 11 Lost 10 1/4lbs since I started on my diet.

Thanks Dorry - hope it goes OK for you tomorrow.

Well the good side about being tired and ratty is that I have shut myself in my office all afternoon to get away from peope and have done my horrible filing job which is business related and have also filed a years worth of personal filing. Have done loads and loads of shredding also. So still feeling a bit grumpy but also pleased with myself.

Have given OH instructions for dinner which he is happily getting on with so will eat that in a while then will get on with the ironing.

Needless to say I will be having a very early night tonight!
