OS Daily Sunday 20th Dec 2008

Hi, this is the Daily Thread for today. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything OS and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an OS natter. The more the merrier!

When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem, we’re a laid back bunch here so you won’t hear any complaints. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning

Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.

Morning.

I shall be leaving for work very soon. It's my turn to cook the Sunday breakfast as well, so we shall all be tucking in to a nice fry up in an hour or so. Providing all is quiet that is. Typically it can get busy and breakfast has to be put on hold!

Not much else to report... It is still rather wet and soggy everywhere

I shall be working all day, so no big Sunday luch to report.

Anyway have a nice day... Oh and Go PACKERS...

Hello N9eav & all to follow,

Well I've been a bit slack with posting the last day or so. The tennis has been on. :D Some really good matches, very late nights and weary days. Bratty Lleyton won as well. DGS sleeping over tonight. He's coming up after his bath and tea. Did a few things this morning made a loaf of b***d ;) cake, cereal and basil pesto. I have just done the ironing.

Having risotto for tea and nothing for dessert. :p I have some grapes and plums. Can't think what was in yesterday's thread so hope all you sickies are on the mend. Will pop back later. Byeeeeeeeeeeeee
Don't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia. ;)

    Morning N9eav and Aussie
((hugs)) to those of you with even more rain:eek: , under the weather (ouch), or would just like one.

I normally would be glued to the tennis Aussie, but seems a shame to be indoors and because of the time difference it is on silly times here.

Nothing much to report, still doing our hours walk a day, found that even Lidl the furthest supermarket from us is only 20 minutes from us - that is 7 within the hour return distance (and also includes an Aldi), so don't think we will go short. Wish there were this many near us in the UK, we have 1 Aldi and 2 Lidl in Donny and surround area. (20 mile radius).

Will catch up with Dancing on Ice later tonight, missed it last week.

    Take care

  • Morning all! Wild and windy here at the moment, it's howling outside, don't think I'll be venturing out to feed the wild birds just at the moment.

Had a nice quiet day yesterday, got the ironing done and out of the way, finished off the raincoat I was making and also got a few Christmas cards started (yes, I am THAT slow :rotfl:) DD is away cat-sitting for the weekend so it's just OH and I here, rather nice really to just bumble about pleasing ourselves.

Today we have several family related phone calls to make and I really ought to do a bit of decluttering - there's still an awful lot of displaced stuff about after the big clear round at Christmas, and if we haven't missed it by now, I might just bin it.....

    Have a good day everyone

Morning N9EAV and AUSSIE and all who follow.

Going to have a quiet pottering day today, just a bit of paperwork and sorting out and listing a work schedule for next week. DH has to complete a vast form for security because he's working at an army camp for the next three months. The questions on the form are unbelievable; besides himself, he has to give all my personal details and those of both his parents. There are even questions about whether or not you have any dark secrets that you could be blackmailed about! I suppose it's in the interests of national security but, when you think of all the people in this country who shouldn't be here, you wonder if any notice is taken of these forms. Anyway, he has to get it done - he hates filling in forms so I shall be nagging him for most of the day to do it.

Dinner will be roast pork, roast pots, swede, cabbage and gravy; I haven't decided what's for pudding yet. We'll have that at lunchtime and then I'll just do something with custard for tea. I must bake some cakes this morning because we've run out. I made some bread pudding yesterday and it's nearly all gone!

Anyway, off to put the WM on and have a cuppa. Hope everyone has a great day and that all the poorly ones are feeling much better.

    See you later.

  • Good morning all! DS is off with Scouts for a 12.5 mile walk on the Wolds, which is why we're up at Silly O'clock, too  I've just made him a cooked breakfast to keep him going, and he's made a fortifying pack-up.

DD and I had a *craft bee* yesterday, and made some cards. She's really good, but I have no imagination, so was really pleased with my efforts ;) . May post some pics later.

Happy Birthday to Apprentice Tycoon :bdaycake:

FR roast chicken and apple crumble for tea :T

Must dash - need to walk DS to his collection point, then I'm off for a run.

Have a great day, Penny. x

  • Morning Guys!

Had a good sleep, so very pleased and feeling much more with it today.

Went to our friends for dinner and on to the "Chef" party. It was a good laugh, but the prices were expensive. I managed to spend just £9.75:D ...but bought a quiche/cake slicer/server and some things you screw into corn on the cobs to hold easier. The host had done so much food too and there was tons of booze.....but I had a Pepsi!

DD is still at her friends, so very peaceful here and Im still laying in bed:o OH has just offered to make a coffee and some toast;) ....cant remember the last time I had breakfast in bed.

Remembered to put the Wm on last night, so that will be ready soon and the DW is empty.

Have nephew and his wife coming for dinner and doing lasagne, salad and garlc bread. Not our normal Roast, but thought this would be easier as I can do it this morning and leave for later. We will have our normal roast tomorrow.

    Anyway, hugs to all.

Second time of typing, may have to re-consider the bband option as this is driving me insane!

Mrs_M - unless it is too big to in the SC, why would you need to cut the joint up. I cook all my joints in my SC - I just throw them in on high for 3-4 hours and they literally fall apart as I get them out, and with nice juices for gravy too.

Please take it easy - you know you shouldn't do too much, frustrating as it may be.

Amie - (((hugs))) I think you may need to start taking something to boost your immune system. I agree about the clothes, IF we lose weight then we need a reward.:rotfl: :rotfl:

Pen-Pin - Glad you had a good night, enjoy your breakfast in bed especially with DD being away ;) .

Pen-Pen - Where do you get your enegy from!

Moiliere - You are lucky if you only have to nag - all form filling here is mine:rolleyes: .
