my local community centre has a cherry tree in the garden... cherries are mushed up on the floor where they've fallen and people just walk over them!! Do you think i'd be allowed to pick them and take home? they are yummy (I had a sneaky one yesterday.) also i've been eyeing up the berry bushes around the train stations i walk past... yum. is it legal/ safe to just pick and go? I'm new to all this but I love the idea! Tanya0

I try to keep a clean and tidy home, hate waste of anytime, grow my own, keep chickens, cook froms scratch, bake my own bread - try and shop wisely etc etc:A (have to admit craft skills leave a liitle to be desired, but can hold my own with anyone under the age of ten)
BUT I CANT AND WONT DRINK MY HUSBANDS HOMEMADE WINE - YUK
Country wine - translates to cough mixture
homemade cider - not to bad - i suppose (but apple juice much nicer)
wine kits - taste like something better suited to washing floor
OH, by the way, thinks all the above wouldnt be out of place in the Queens wine cellar and has demi johns bubbling all over the place
So - going against everything OS I sneak the odd decent bottle of plonk in from the wine shop and boy do i enjoy it (all the time pretending it aint a patch on yours darling:rotfl:.
Is there you hate thats OS?Well Behaved women seldom make history

Soya mince. Tried it with meat mince to bulk it out. Bl00dy vile stuff
Tasteless and soggy when re-hydrated. Now I just use lentils which are far nicer

I can eat intact blackberries in jam or pies, I use them to make far more wasteful jellies and vodka as I can't bear the thought of there being beasties in there even though I soak them in salted water etc etc I still cant handle it!
I also can't clean things with just vinegar and bicarb as part of my work is microbiology-based so I tend to have a love-affair with bleach and neat rubbing alcohol0 -
I cannot and will not eat any sorts of offal (except in pate)... The thought of it turns my stomach - would definately rather go veggie than eat the stuff!0

I can't bring myself to not flush the loo (to water save) if its yellow (iyswim). It must be flushed after use.CC2 = £8687.86 ([STRIKE]£10000[/STRIKE] )CC1 = £0 ([STRIKE]£9983[/STRIKE] ); Reusing shopping bags savings =£5.80 vs spent £1.05.Wine is like opera. You can enjoy it even if you don't understand it and too much can give you a headache the next day J0

Can't bring myself to eat offal either, the thought turns my stomach. I don't even manage meat with bones. Also I cannot imagine life without 2 cars even though we live in a city!Must get organised and rejoin grocery challenge!0

I agree on the offal and still flushing if its only yellow.
I'd try home made wine but OH won't hear of it, he thinks it will explode or taste like vinegar, [STRIKE]not that it would take over his garage[/STRIKE]0 -
