Blimey, I didn't realise this was disgusting. We buy the cheapest small sandwich bags from Wilkos and use these for poopbags. Never occurred to me to use anything else!

I think its just the fact that they are see through and there is never a poop bin near where the dogs poop that means having to carry it for a bit, I think that perhaps opaque bags are best for me.

OMG the stench of a rotten potato!!!

If the potato is still firm and has not gone green, just pull any eyes off and go for it!:T

Chuck the eyes into some soil and hope.;)

    hey had to post
I just remembered somthing that DD1 and I did, she was soooooo embarrased. lol. Walking the dog on the beach and I saw horse poo a great big pile, I got very excited and used my T'S bag ( luckily didn't have sanwich bags cos they really wouldn't do!!!!!) picked it up and brought it home. Put the said horse poo in a bucket of water and left it for a few days , now we have free veg and plant feed. I take three cups of the horse poo water and dilute in a watering can and hey presto. Toms are looking very perky just recently.
Not sure if I would have had the nerve to walk into the road and pick it up but mabey next time and only if I have supermarket bag with me cos opaque is def best!!:rotfl:

Good for you Ralloctiger - I have never plucked up the courage to pick up any horse poo!

Perhaps travel cannot prevent bigotry. But by demonstrating that all people cry, laugh, eat, worry and die, it introduces the idea that if we try to understand each other, we may even become friends.

I do eat my DDs' leftovers off their plate sometimes, just use a clean fork!! The oldest one particularly often puts way too much on her plate and I hate waste!

I mainly use nappy sacks for doggy bags but if I've run out will use any old plastic bag.

My DH always lets our dog lick the plate after his breakfast, he has crumpets with Bovril on, and smears some on the plate especially for her - the plates get washed well and we are still here!

The crochet hook for getting hair out of plugholes is a good idea, will try it tomorrow!
  • I must be totally minging, i will eat left overs from childrens plate, hubby quite often plates up what we havn't eaten and take it to work next day. Can't understand the hair thing, its just hair we all (well almost all) have it.
Dandy i'm totally with you on the hair in plug hole, really satisfying to pull a huge clump out.
I shower every otherday, tend to wear clean clothes everyday but thats because i work with children and end up covered in goodness knows what.
Plastic food bags get washed and re used, don't see it being any different than a plastic tub and we all re use them.

I can empathise with the horse poo collection. Years ago, I found a superb collection of it in a lane near riding stables where we lived. I rushed home, collected up a couiple of buckets and borrowed the keys to husband's new car to go and pick it up. Duly did so, placed it on back seat of car and took a corner too quickly on way home. Unfortunately one bucket full of still steaming manure toppled over onto new car upholstery. I was in doghouse for weeks and have never been allowed to forget this incident.
