Ewww. I could never finish off someone elses food, I am really grossed out by that kind of thing, and yes I know it's me with the problem. I hate it when DH suggests we share a drink too, yuck.
I'm pretty sure I do loads of revolting things though, um we don't wash much, a whole family of soap dodgers, and I wear the same clothes until thet're dirty without washing them after one wear.0 -
Oh dear, this doesn’t bode well for me…
I would (and do) save leftovers from my own plate for a future meal (i.e. lunch the next day). I would also add leftovers from Mr P’s plate – we are married, and if the worst thing we do is share food that his fork “may” have previously touched, then I think that is pretty sanitary in comparison to the things that lots of married couples do between themselves!! We don’t have kids, but if we did, I don’t see that I would worry about eating their leftovers either… However, this is within reason…I don’t recycle manky old baked beans or spaghetti hoops, or teaspoons of mashed potato…!
If we have visitors, I always serve food in serving dishes in the middle of the table, so that everybody can help themselves. However, I always save food that hasn’t been touched (much to the disgust of my Ps-in-law, who chuck anything that has been remotely near a “communal” table, even if it is still sealed in plastic (?!?!). In fact, they think I am mad in that I absolutely refuse any help to clear away the table after meals…little do they know that it is because I am madly scraping uneaten/untouched food into lock’n’lock boxes to re-use at a later date!!). At this point, I would like to make clear that I don’t re-use leftovers from other people’s plates (with the possible exception of Mr P, because I “know” him!!), but I would re-pack stuff that had only made it as far as a central serving plate on the table… ;-) Incidentally, I would only recycle things taken from plates (from Mr P and I) to myself – I would not scrape my plate and then feed it to a guest…
I don’t compost hair from brushes, but I do clean out family brushes and combs using my hands (naked, with no gloves!), and have no issue with it…?!
Don’t have a dog, so cannot comment on the dog-poop bag status…
Have in the past washed the odd panty-liner, but only in error, so tend to discard upon finding (after washing) rather than try to use again. However, I have downgraded from branded products to Lidl’s own, so don’t worry unduly about the £££ (or rather ppp!!) there…
I didn’t realise there was anything wrong with sharing a teabag between cups. (Admittedly, I am not personally a tea drinker, and if I am making drinks for family/friends/guests, I would always give the guest the first “dunk” of the teabag, but nobody has ever complained about my tea-making skills?!).
Oh my goodness – I am more disgusting than I had ever realised, and obviously a totally revolting individual. :rotfl: Whoops!!!:D:p

I reuse freezer bags, I bought a roll of freezer bags from ASDA and I wash them and reuse them, it's quite amazing how often they can be reused, that is probably the most revolting thing I do, I'm not sure if anyone would consider that revolting though.
I reuse soap scraps and mould them back into a bar, but I use that for myself, I don't leave it for my visitors to use, there is a freebie on offer at the moment somewhere on MSE for a recyled bar of soap, it's one thing recyling your own soap but you never know where those free bars have been.0 -
Oh heck, I didn't realise that re-using freezer bags was revolting as well...best mark me down for that one, too (I've re-used sandwich bags as well in the past - albeit for the same filling on consecutive days - but there might be those who wish to hold it against me in retrospect!!)!!
Going to beat myself up about my truly disgusting habits now...

My mum only wiggles a tea bag in her cup a few times and then puts it on a plate to reuse - one tea bag a day.
I re-use my sandwich bags and wear clothes until they are dirty before washing.
Leftovers from communal plates or pans are stored for future use. Uneaten food from plates goes in the dog
It's really a difficult question because I don't think of any of these things as disgusting (just frugal) so it's really a matter of perspective, isn't it.
A couple of things that I do that could be classed as disgusting:
When cutting veg for a dinner if I drop one on the floor I run it under the tap and then put it in the pan (it's going to have all the germs cooked off it anyway in my eyes)
Mouldy cheese - I cut the mouldy bits off and continue to use the 'good' stuff.
If something is just outside it's use by date and smells ok then I still use it (the only exception to this is chicken and fish stuff - they go in the bin).
Soft wrinkly potatoes that are past their best - once they are peeled and steamed/boiled no-one knows the difference.....
I'm sure there is more so I'll carry on thinking.Lightbulb moment: -£9,954.31 Current Debt: £0
It's not what you look at that matters, it's what you see.0 -

These things arent really revolting or disgusting whatsoever but my dh is a sanitary, fastidious (ie spendthrift) sort and it becomes a sort of game to me to *get away* with the stuff I do. Keeps me amused anywayCogito ergo sum. Google it you lazy sod !!0

What's the most disgusting thing you do?
Yuk!! just couldn't do that!! I would nick the odd chip or such like while they are eating but not scrape it into a pan, mix it all up and eat it!! Gross!! (is it just me??)Slightly bitter0 -

I would not eat DS's leftovers- more drool than I like normally lol....I just don't give him a big portion to start with but then give him more if he needs it (rarely). Any meat scraps (fatty bits etc) are fed to cat. I did use real nappies (and real nappy liners made of fleece) when DS was in nappies, breastfed poop was fun to wash down the loo not lol! I reuse as much as I can and buy second hand stuff (which I know some people think 'yuck' about even in the current economic climate). Me and DS share a flush if its only liquids!
That's all for now I think! xErmutigung wirkt immer besser als Verurteilung.
