Tonight's dinner was Turtle pie! - layers of potato, onion, leek, bacon and sweetcorn with cheese on top. Obviously delicious as its all gone - none left for me to take to work tomorrow!!

Could you post (or PM) the recipe for this please - it sounds lovely :D.

I've just scraped the kids leftovers from their plates back into the pan and will heat them up for my supper! It wont be cordon bleu but am sure it will taste ok. My dh says that is disgusting, I think its just common sense :rotfl:

naaasty ! Can't you just give the kiddies less on their plates & make a plate up for yourself at the same time? Somehow seems less 'orrible than eating someone's drooled on food !! :)

Can't for the life of me think of anything that I do that comes anywhere close to that - sure I must do though! Will just pop out & ask DH

I honestly don't see what's disgusting about that! I'm assuming it was only on their plate and not all over the floor, and I'm sure they used cutlery so what's the problem? :D

Also, washable nappies were around long before disposable ones so it's all there was at one time!

Can't think of anything that I do that's too bad; shall have to think about that one.

I think it's because I'm not a mum - alot of,erm, boundaries gets smudged when you have kids! The whole "picking up the dummy off the floor, sticking it in your mouth to clean it then giving it back to bubs" thing gives me the shivers also ;)

I've asked DH if there's anything to do that is nasty & he says he can't think of anything. We have only been married a year and a half though, so he could still be trying to keep me sweet !

    (great thread btw)

I have a thing about food so I wouldn't be able to have anything except the untouched food on their plates when they were little, I can just about manage pizza crusts now they are older. I actually see that as more my phobia than a sensible position though ;)

    However, I don't shave my legs , shhhhhhhhhhh :o

Any food thats been on plates and not eaten in our house (or leftovers in the pan that are too small to make a meal out of) get fed to the dogs - keeps my dog food bill down!!!
Me, OH, grown DS, (other DS left home) and Mum (coming up 80!). Considering foster parenting. Hints and tips on saving £ always well received. Xx

March 1st week £80 includes a new dog bed though £63 was food etc for the week.

Ooooo, I couldn't do that - I'm a lazy b*gger though, so only do it once a week. By Sunday night, I am approaching Yeti-status
