I don't think they are cheap but I'd personally pay a reasonable sum to stop a cat spraying on my baby's bed! If your landlord gives permission, you could install one of these instead of the existing catflap.
A quick google suggests the Staywell range of catflaps.
I don't have cats so I don't know if they would be any good.
We've got a magnetic one.
They're great :j . We bought one (about £40) and it fitted in the hole left by the previous catflap. It's lockable so you can keep your cat in too.
Expensive, but well worth it IMO.0 -

I don't think you own cats or your responses would not have been so ignorant although you still haven't answered, are you a pet owner?.
Oh, dear I suspect this will be a circular argument.
You don't have to answer my questions (which you haven't) so why demand answers from me? And what on earth does answering if I have a cat have to do with my original post but to give you a stick to beat me with either way? I'm not about to do that.
Thought you 'couldn't be bothered anymore'?
I certainly can't.
As it's going way off topic and you are personally attacking me I am not going to post any further replies to you.If you do what you've always done, you'll get what you've always got.

There's no point arguing on here about the merits of cats as pets.
Like Marmite I guess, you either love 'em or hate 'em. I wonder why the Chinese don't have a year of the cat yet have one for a rat? (I know the Chinese folk tale).
To me, they poo in my garden and dig up my flower beds to hide the evidence. Out of malice, they attack the birds that I feed. They should be kept on leads in the same way that dogs are kept on leads. Then I'd be happy.
I don't think I'd like to hurt one. It's not their fault, they do what they do. It's the owners who let them do it and, just like a mother defends her spoilt brat, they refuse to take responsibilty.

Nothing wrong with the bath trick as long as you drop him in, stand well back and give him a clear exit out of the house!!!!!!!!!
Would you do the same with a neighbour's naughty child? Sick ...
I agree with GG, this is an issue that the OP needs to take up with the owner of the cat. The cat has no concept of right and wrong, and as such really should not be punished.
GG, you know that they only leave little presents for people that they really like ...Gone ... or have I?0 -
I am a cat lover and had a pesky cat visit our garden. One day, I caught him in the act and crept up behind him and gave out the biggest yowl - I have never seen anyone jump so high.
He never did it again:DAn average day in my life:hello: :mad: :coffee::coffee::coffee::T:rotfl: :rotfl:
:eek::mad: :beer:
I am no expert in property but have lived in many types of homes, in many locations and can only talk from experience.0 -

Yes I would if I caught him in my house peeing on the furniture
And anyone else for a matter of fact.
I notice you're doing itsgottotstop's dirty work now...
And as it's going off topic, blah blah, and personal, blah, blah. will not be replying further to you either. If you do what you've always done, you'll get what you've always got.

I don't particularly like cats, but the thing to remember is that 95% of the time a pets behaviour is down to the owner. If I was the owner of the cat in question, I don't think I'd mind you knocking on the door to have a quiet word. Infact I'd appreciate it and try to solve the problem.
Still....can't speak for the rest of the population.
Also the magnetic cat flap sounds like a good idea.0 -
What is it with the British and pets?!!!
The Tom is p*ssing on the babies bed and other places that young children are in contact with and risk serious disease......but all that is said in the main is about not being cruel to the cat???!!!! Daft beyond belief.Happy chappy0 -
One other thingBut it isn't fair on my cat to have to stay in most of the time just because some other owner is totally irresponsible.
I'd advocate using a water pistol, since cats dislike this but they have a good chance to run away. Dunking in a bath is not necessarry.Happy chappy0
