my bathroom sink is directly above the boiler and kitchen sink direcly the the lower left . i can go to the loo want to wash my hands after , i rarely wash them in warm water never mind hot water it takes that long to appear. Combo's IMO sux. The boiler does have a pre heat ability but then the boiler is always kicking on even when not used, wasting gas and not to mention the fan then kicks in more noise. when i wash the pots i have to throw a good load of water away, all of which i might add the gas is burning away wasting.0 -

Just because there is UP TO £3,500 available on the Wrmfront scheme, this does not mean all the money is used up. I joined the scheme just over two years ago when the maximum was around £2,700. That covered the cost of the boiler, boiler installation, loft insulation, two years service/warranty.Catlover123 wrote: »As with the NHS, some people bleed the system
Maybe your heating system needs bleeding too?Catlover123 wrote: »I have worked for over 40 years, am a single lady and have paid possibly millions in tax. At the time, I thought I could get a free boiler. Had I known (or should have known, given my experience of the average British worker and British mentality), that the scheme was a fraud, I would have got a Polish plumber. Know what? That is what I am getting. I will never never never employ a British person again.
You sound a like a person unhappy with life and who was a failure at business. If you want a free boiler I don't suppose you can say you want a Polish worker to install it.0 -
I applied Jan 19th for the Warmfront and was told I was allowed to go from warm air to radiators. The survayor measured up and told me where everything would go....I told him I didnt want the new boiler to go upstairs, I want it to go where the old one was. He told me that the grant wouldnt fund it but if I was to get it removed myself it would be fine just confirm it with the installers. In march I still hadn't heard who was installing it so rang Warmfront who gave me a number to call and book with them an install date(supposidly letter was in the post but still not got to date). I did this and they told me to take the old system out the day before so it was clear for when the installers got there. The install date was 5th May, on the 3rd they called to rearrange the date. New date was today 16th May. So yesterday I had the system taken out, moved all the furniture that needed to be moved, rolled back all the carpets ready for them (being helpful) I rang them at 8.30am to get a rough time they would be here (needed to do school run) and was told 9.30am. Brilliant I thought.............9.30 I get a call from Warmfront, they had recieved and email from the contractors FRIDAY to cancel todays install and could I rebook!!!! I had only spoken to the contractor an hour before who confirmed they would be here at 9.30!!! I asked warmfront when the soonest they could install......1st June. No heating, no hot water, 3 young children at home. As you can guess I wasnt happy and went mad to the lady on the phone. A callback 10mins later and I have been told someone will be out Wed to connect the boiler so I can have hot water but the radiators wont be installed until 1st June. So now its a wait and see on wednesday. So far I am unhappy with the way things have gone with them0

How are you all getting on with Warm Front.
My sis has just asked me for advice regarding her application Nov 2010 which she was told would go ahead, and only when she rang in June 2011 to find out what was happening, was told that the boiler replacement would no longer happen.Who made hogs and dogs and frogs?

It took 26 months from start to finish but after countless phone calls, letters and frustration they passed on the job to Eaga Heat who wrote to me telling me they would be visiting on a certain date in May 2011. I disbelieved this as I had just written the entire company off as some government backed quango. Anyway, to cut a pretty long and frustrating story short they didn't show up on the agreed date. I phoned Eaga and they told me there had been some confusion (no !!!!). They said we will re book the installer to come out next week. Thankfully they came when arranged and amazingly the installer was professional and fitted the Worcester Bosch greenstar 28i without any problems. I am pleased to report that after all the constant head banging of this entire saga Eaga and the warm front scheme came good and (touch wood) the boiler has been working fine.:j0

My mum is in the same boat - she was aproved in Nov 2010 and rang up to chase this but they are now saying she is no longer eligible ( she is on council tax benefit and state pension)
No letters or any other communication since January:mad:
She is 65 and had arthritis, i am so angry she has to spend anoter winter with one gas fire in the whole house0 -
we had warm front install Oct 2010, had a phone call in Dec asking if working, as we were just back off holiday said yes I think so, in January 2011 had to ring about banging & lack of heat, engineer called & said system needed flushing as it couldn't have been done right, needed new 3 way valve & balancing........they failed to come, in october I rand asking when service would be & what about the repairs etc & was told the case was closed & recorded as all o.k.
from this time I have been on to both corillian & orion to try to get things done, faults, service, replacements....whilst I have a sympathetic ear at corillian he seems unable to get anything done, orion are rude & don't want to know other than passing it back to corillian.
I'm now without heating for most of the week & hot water about every other day, I scared that my wife will become ill when we do get the 'cold snap' as although its cold now its going to get worse obviously & the fact that the boiler has still not been serviced, faults not repaired & parts not replaced................where do I go, the complaints dept is at corillion yet they are the administrators of the scheme anyway....so self regulating which obviously is not working.
do I book an outside contractor at my cost?, does this void any warrantee?, for what thats worth. Can my household insurance legal cover do anythings?
I'm at my wits end & getting very highly strung now, feel like I can't cope anymore, but theres no where to go.....they don't seem to care that people are cold !!
heres a list of problems:
*hot water on a bi-daily basis most of the time.
*have to manually move valve to get hot water.
*radiators don't function 90% of the time.
*stat does not speak to programmer.
*programmer doesn't start pump.
*programmer can be lit, but pump is not running.
*crackling & banging in pipes.
*boiler very load banging & cracking almost to the point of *being frightened.
*when we do have rads working, some still don't.
2 extra inspections by corillion, both of which say there are problems & list them, both of which are not recognised by orion, but when I ask what we need to do orion say ask corillion for an inspection, we can't do anything until they have !!
I know that this is going to end up costing me what I just don't have.
