Warm Front - Lets Make Them Accountable

The Warmfront inspector had contacted them to tell them the electrical wiring was dangerous (one of the many faults I forgot to report in my earlier blogs). I have researched the issue of water on the internet (warm, even by the time it reached the kitchen door level in the snow), and it appears that this is a likely potentially dangerous situation. I have had a quote for about £2,000 for removing the boiler and fitting a combi from a reputable firm. I think the best thing I can do is send my letters and photos (which photos I will try to upload on to this site) and then get their rubbish work removed and a decent boiler installed and a Vaillant was suggested. I am wondering how much extra it will cost to put right all their bad work. They said it would be too expensive to rectify the piping and wiring damage and the cheapest and easiest course is to fit a combi. I then have to sue Warmfront or Eagaheat for the damage to my double-glazed window, which they blow-torched and to the kitchen worktops. The losses I have incurred in earnings and getting on with my life is incalculable. I really feel like doing an article for the press. I think some of the damage was malicious, particularly the fitter puting oily handprints on my newly decorated hall. I wiped the excess off but still have to repaint it, which I can do myself but it is an expense and a nuisance.0

Eagaheat/Warm Front/Warm Sure!
Had a boiler fitted with new hot water cylinder, header tank and 2 radiators on a "two day" job. 26th/27th Jan. Can't knock the plumbers worl ethic the man worked like a machine. However in the process of working like a machine (on his own I may add.) he managed to cause rather a lot of avoidable damage. For starter I was electrocuted turning my kitchen lights on when the water had not been drain from the system in its entirety. The water from removing the hot water cylinder had come cascading through my kitchen causing damage to my wallpaper and obviously it had made its way into my lights. Then because the system wasn't emptied of water he went to remove the hot water cylinder and it was too heavy for him alone. He put it in my shower and cracked the base. I only have a shower so I am now without bathing facilities with 3 teenagers in the house this is not ideal, to make matters worse my husband has an open wound from a appendectomy operation that suffered a wound infection, this needs bathing daily. The plumber in moving the cylinder also managed to spill brown gunk all over my bathroom floor, staining my paintwork and cladding. In replacing the cylinder he ruined my airing cupboard because he coouldn't quite get the cylinder in without being rather forceful. Now lets move to the damage after he had finished. He turned all the radiators off and when he had finished turned them all back on again, this caused one of my radiators "rad valves" to crack, leaving water to leak down the radiator pipe. We managed to stop it from leaking on Friday night ourselves until a Warm Sure engineer could get to us Saturday, he turned up bright and early Saturday morning to tell us the radiator was too old to repair without damaging something else on the radiator and he would oreder one but it would be Wednesday Thursday when it was installed the following week. After he left I looked at the radiator again and realised it was leeking faster than before and we couldn't stop it from leaking now, I ran Warm Sure again who's answer was we can come and drain your system down until the new radiator arrives, leaving us without heating for a period of 5 days. We have tried all Friday 28th January to get hold of an area manager regarding the damage in the bathroom and kitchen with no joy, again on Saturday I was on the phone without any joy! Now I have been to Trading Standards, my press and my Councillor, I have a husband and 3 kids whom need their washing facilities (my 16 year old daughter at the moment especially!) We will be back on the phone to them on Monday morning to see what plans they have to rectify our predicament!0 -
Even when you get the guy round to do the end testing, you'd think that woudl be the end of it. :rotfl:3 weeks later and 3 phonecalls still waiting ,. it is an absolutely disgusting service. Nearly 3 months now and still i am fobbed off with excuse after excuse.
I really wish there was a central complain department, as sending complaint to newcastle to me just feels like they will be filed under B for bin
Well you got it for nothing, doesnt really cut the mustard any more. Somebody got paid £4000 for central heating, why on earth isn't it working correctly.
Any other plumber would essentailly be in a small claims court by now or at teh very least i woudl have been refunded some money0 -
Do Warmfront have to install the new system within any certain timescales once everything has been approved? Mine was all approved back in April last year and nothing has happened yet. I still get the odd letter saying it is all going ahead just that they are very busy, but it has been nearly 10 months. I am having problems with my existing boiler and dont want to spend any money on it knowing (or at least hoping) it is going to be replaced shortly
Thanks0 -

Mine all started oct 2009 with the accessor, without looking i think it was about June 2010 it was when the guy came round to measure up for radiators, but with work commitments ( i work from home ) i had to leave it until october before i sent money. They did say and indeed do say it takes about 6months from first applying before they get around to looking at it It now almost feb 2011 still waiting for it to be finished0 -
I would like to add my comments concerning Warm Front. My grant was approved some 2 years ago. I have had a survey completed by a warm front engineer some 8 months ago and i am still waiting for someone to contact me with a date to start the work0

i was told from survey to end would be 6months . i woudl certain ly keep ringing, all my work and repairs got done, including a biger radiators as there original calculation was too cold in lounge.
keep ringing them dude, they are cutting back infact not taking any more on, so get it done quick0 -
Personally I'd advice you not to let them anywhere near your property - I guess you still will though so good luck!0
