When me and sis were little, my Dad used to do loads of little things to give us a magical childhood. Every Christmas, the advent calendars used to be "delivered" by fairies and were found in the fireplace with our initials stuck on in glitter.

One Christmas, Santa got stuck in the chimney, losing some of the fluff from his coat, which we foudn in the fireplace. The mince pie was always eaten, the milk drunk and the carrots gone. All presents used to be brought by Santa with the only exceptions being those brought home from school. Santa also used to bring the chocolates and crackers for the tree.

Our sunlounge always used to be decorated by the fairies one night when we were in bed, which we called Fairy Land

One year he even rang sleigh bells outside our bedroom window

My dad rang bells outside the windows as well and i have done it for mine. One year when we where staying with my parents for christmas he covered his boots in fake snow/talc and walked around the house in them, even right up to my daughters bedroom door where she had hung her stocking, she was so amazed to see how messy santa had been, it was lovely.

Santa has even left little notes to say thank you for the mince pie, milk and carrots:D

Magical memories which cost nothing but a small amount of time.

As for the presents have decided to wrap in one go, unless they have to be sent early.

When I was little my dad used to work nights sometimes on Xmas Eve - and he swore he saw Santa on his sleigh while he was out.

    I believe!
