Well, I treated myself today, I was thinking about xmas while walking through town so decided to go to the xmas shop - for those nearby its called 'December 25th' (Original - I know!!) and its on Cheap Street, right next to Bath Abbey.
I went in and was truly amazed at how beautiful the stuff in there was, so ive decided to buy myself 2 or 3 tree ornaments a month, that way, by the time xmas comes, i'll have between 10 - 15 decent ornaments. After deliberating forever I decided on two glass angels, both at £2.29 each, and they are different, one has a flared bell type skirt, and the other has a swirly glass affair, but both really really nice. :j
Ive found myself a box (recycled pigsback piggybank box!) as my xmas decoration box, and now they are nestled in tissue paper ready for then, and now im exceptionally excited!!  (im a big kid!)
Ive also decided that im going to make a small gift box for my best girl mates from my first year at uni (affectionately nicknamed the !!!!!es!) - and am going to home make CD's with all our first year songs on (motown mostly!!) im going to get them all a glass angel too, and a few other bits and bobs, so that it is convenient to post (one in the USA, one in Cumbria, and the other floating around the world.....).
We are probably having another couple to come and stay for xmas, (I havent asked them yet as its a bit early for 'normal' people to think about it!!), and have decided that as they are both foody types, im going to make a foody gift basket, and get a bit of expensive coffee from our market (I never realised before how great Bath is for all this stuff.... Makes up for the tourists and parking attendants though I suppose!) beause they have a grinder and a proper cafatiere - so would love it.
For Boyf, I thought about getting him a really nice ring as he likes wearing one or two, but he loses them because he is such a fiddler so thats out. Any men out there that could give me a shove in the right direction?? He likes Guitars, PC war games, and a beer or two - and hates sports!
Dad is easy - A quick visit to the cigar shop!
Sister and Mum - God knows, they usually tell me anyway so no worries, :T
And Brother - well, he likes ebay - so I bid and buy what he tells me he wants, usually retro turtles/thundercats video's etc...
And thats everyone! I'm so pleased im practically organised already! My trolley £1 coins are being put on the card and I have £4 towards xmas food already (and Id spend it if I had it in savings!) so all I have to do is think of a few finer points, like a food shopping list, boyf's prezzie and exactly what to put in the gift hampers, but everything else is sorted already!:T
I always wondered why people get stressed at xmas - its the kids, not the season - this is easy!(Note - I would say that - I dont have children, and im sure Ill burn my turkey or something....)

depending on how much you were looking to spend, THIS seems like a cool pressy for a guitar player (there are usually money off copuons for firebox as well, which will cover the p&p if nothing else)
also, how about jewellery made from guitar pics? i have a few links if you are interested in some more ideas (more beads than jewellery, but im sure you know what i mean!)know thyselfNid wy'n gofyn bywyd moethus...0 -

Thats a really great idea - thank you! Boyf always likes taking a guitar everywhere with him so this would save the hassle of taking a massive amp everywhere! I also had greasypalm cashback tracker flick up - an extra 4% back too! Thanks!

Thought I'd bump this back up to the top of the thread's list in case anyone has started to slack off already with their Christmas planning!
It's exactly 4 months today till Christmas... scary eh?
Spoke to all my family this week and agreed a maximum spend of £10 a head so I now have my Christmas budget sorted. I have been putting money aside since January so it's all sitting there ready for present buying (that would never have happened a year ago - this site has made me so organised!).
This weekend I will make some more Christmas cards and write a list of presents to buy and make.0 -
I AM going away for Christmas! It will be wonderful to be with my brother, his wife and my little nephew...but I am sad about not being able to have all my own Christmas rituals this year...ah well, next year! But I think I will still try and make a pud to take with us, and some homemade biscuits and things...if I get the time!
I haven't done a great deal towards Christmas lately...other than think about it. Oh, and get my sewing machine manual ordered, so I can be making some cushion covers and nice things like that. At the weekend I hope to get some wool for splendid hat-knitting!0 -
4 months! ooh, that's a bit scary
I've been making christmas cards this week - we're having a christmas Fayre at the beginning of december so I'll try selling then and any I don't sell I'll send
My pressie drawer is getting quite full too, so I promise I'm not slacking at allPre O/S: what's a vitamin? Does it begin with the letter e?Now: I'm not eating any of that pre-made rubbish...0 -
Followed this site when it first started and found myself starting to think Christmas presents whenever I saw reduced stuff and the like...I NEVER even start to think Christmas till December...what is that all about
Anyway, I have loads of wrapping paper and cards left over from last year and I'm not really a 'making presents' kind of person. We only really give pressies to children anyway.
What I would appreciate though is some ideas for presents that cost no more than £10 for teens. Two 14 girls and one 12/13 yr old boy. Was going to just send the cash or a voucher but if you guys have ideas I'd really appreciate it.0 -

Have you seen the thread for the book people where you can get either 10 or 20 books for £10 - for children of all ages or adults.
Also some of the misprices at Amazon or Tesco for dvd's?"This site is addictive!"
Wooligan 2 squares for smoky - 3 squares for HTA
Preemie hats - 2.0 -
FrankieM,
I have 2 14 year old girls to buy for as well but it's there birthday Christmas day too, so I always try to distinguish between the 2 gifts, this year, I picked up a load of trinket bits in the Next Sale such as keyrings, lipstick case, perfume atomisers which cost me about £6 a I'm going to supplement that with a make up kit from Boots when they start the 3 4 2 christmas thing to make it up to the £10 for Christmas, then I'll get them Topshop vouchers for their birthday. Boys I get stuck with but used hawkinsbazaar (they have a website not sure if it's com or co.uk) which is quite good for some weird and wonderful stuff, also great for stocking fillers, I've requested their catalogue this year though as they have so much stuff it can get tedious looking at it on linePay all debts by Xmas 12 # 072 £1201.79/£15,105.68:eek:

Just thought I'd add, I've been buying in advance of Christmas for a few years now (however it's the first time I've saved money rather than shoving on the credit card) and my family thought I was bonkers, however this year I've had a breakthrough my Mum has admitted that with exception of her stepson and grandchildren, she's got all her Xmas shopping done because she thought what I did was a great idea. Just got to convince my moither in law now, however she improved last year because she did start 4 weeks in advance rather than the week before (and I actually got a present I wanted yeah)Pay all debts by Xmas 12 # 072 £1201.79/£15,105.68:eek:
