    Hi,

Just noticed this thread, I love Christmas, and have just started to think about it, will need to make lists of what im buying people this year, does anyone else think it gets harder and harder to buy each year or is it just me.

Anyway, yesterday I was in Asda, and I was having a look at their toy section, and noticed they had quite a few things in that would do for stocking filers, they had little things that were 50p, £1.50 etc, im going to buy some of them for my son aged 3.

Sorry if anyone has mentioned this before, I haved read through all the posts yet, but, I will do.

    Jackie xx

Well, I've got a spare hour or so on my hands while the kids are getting bathed, so thought I might wrap up the Xmas pressies I've bought so far !!! :D

I've NEVER been this organised before so am really looking forward to visiting both sets of parents this year and not having to rush out getting last minute shopping etc. Will be able to enjoy it instead :T .

Ohh and I bought my hyacinth bulbs today so will get them planted tomorrow (in lovely white wooden square pots that I got reduced to £2).

Now, where did I put that sellotape ! :rotfl:

I agree, done every type of hamper/things in jars/theatre tickets etc possible for family and friends. Will either be very boring pressies or odd ones me thinks this year depending on how creative I get:rolleyes:

Cant believe I'm thinking of xmas I haven't had my hoilday yet this year

I'm loving this thread! Hoping to be more organised this year but have a bit of a problem - wondering if anyone can help.

I am going to my mum's for christmas this year however that involves getting on a plane, with only one suitcase and a weight limit - has anyone got any tips for how to cope with this?

Don't forget, you are entitled to hand luaggage. They have to be of a certain size, but no weight restriction (as long as you will be able to put it in the overhead lockers yourself. We usually put them under the seat though!)

What about sending lighter stuff by post????

  • Ooh I'm so pleased this thread is back in action! I've been super organised this year actually - I got quite a bit of stuff in some of the summer sales, particuarly for my little sister. My dad loves posh chutneys and things, so I've picked up pickled garlic, olives and etc in TK Maxx for next to nothing, all in date obviously.

If anyone has a Wilkinsons near them, the one near me (Acocks Green in Birmingham) had some amazing pencils and sharpners for kids - the pencils had wooden animal toppers - frogs, cats, fish, and a person with a crown on. The sharpers were in the shape of the animals, they are all painted and look really good, like something you'd get in a craft shop or hawkins bazaar. The best bit is, they were 30p each! They had packs of coloured pencils too for 30p, and paint palettes for 50p. So I got my OH's niece and nephew a really lovely set of pencil, sharpner and colours for 90p each (!), which I can add to with colouring books and etc.

I've also been stockpiling card & nice paper for cards, and am wrapping my pressies in brown paper wrapped with red ribbon - which I'll be getting nice and cheap from the indoor market...
