  • Right, haven't posted for a little while as I have been busy knitting!! I'm proud to report that I have now finished knitting Mrs Claus, to go with Father Christmas that I knitted last year. Here's a linky to Jean Greenhowe's website that shows them both. As Father Christmas is still in the loft from last year I won't post a piccie till December :D
Squares knitted for my throw ~ 90 (yes!!! I have finally finished it :rotfl: )
Squares made for my patchwork quilt ~ 80 (only the "actual" quilting to do now :rotfl:)

    Hellooooooo :)

Am after any recipes/ideas for home made gifts, more the ones that I can start doing now rather than biscuits and truffles etc. Chutneys, preserves, pickles, liqueurs, etc.

Any advice on doing alchol-ed fruits? Do I just whack em in?

Done some infused oils already, and waiting for some wax discs so i can get the mincemeat made.

moanymoany - yes it is hard. I think, I just keep looking around and see what I can find. Thanks

Just upset mother in law..... Told her not to buy any clothes for DS2 (he is only 14 month) as he has lots of clothes handed down from DS1 and we bought some new in the sales. Now we realised, he has way to much. :o
But if she is happy with it, we will ask her to buy his first pair of slippers or wellies. He is not walking yet, so me thinks that can be part of his xmas pressy.

I now have done a list with all the xmas pressy we have bought so far. i find it hardest to buy for my kids.:o

Just need to think about something for parents in law. DH doesn't seem to be able to think of anything....

Anyhow, better go and do my lists

    Egon

I went to Sainsburys today with my neighbour (she was shopping not me) and I saw that they had many of their individual mugs on sale, for those making gift baskets. Don't know if it's in all stores or not but there was some really nice ones so I'm thinking of going back on Tax Credit day

  • not sure if this is any use to anyone making gifts that need jars. tesco has some very nice kilner style jars in medium and large sizes they were around the £1 and £1.50 mark depending on the size, sorry cant remember the prices exactly. they are in the cookware section. while there i picked up a big roll of brown parcel paper it was £1.47 from memory, (it should make nice wrapping paper)
