HELP
Its good that you are working at being debt free but if you want to continue, then, hard as it is, it really would be a good idea to budget for big expenditure times, such as Xmas, otherwise you are at risk of blowing your success.
We've had a budget for several years now and it really works for us.
We have to save for our endowment shortfall  and find that by budgetting, we could save more easily. Rather than try and find, say £100 each and every month, we know which are our high expenditure months and our low expenditure months. In high expenditure months, we may 'borrow' from the endowment fund and on low expenditure months, we may save double or more, say £200 or £250. Over the year, we still manage (in this example) to save £1200. We now don't suddenly find ourselves spending rashly in 'flush' months.
We still have to be disiplined and stick to the Xmas budget though:)7 Angel Bears for LovingHands Autumn Challenge. 10 KYSTGYSES. 3 and 3/4 (ran out of wool) small blanket/large square, 2 premie blankets, 2 Angel Claire Bodywarmers0 -

when my little boy was in his first year at school instead of cards the teacher gave all the kids a small cotton bags tied with a ribbon inside it was a mixture of porrige oats and glitter, the label on the outside said it was special reindeer food. You sprinkled it outside so the reindeers used the sparkles as a signal to land at that house and while santa was in dealing with the pressies the reindeers could eat the oats. He loved it and we kept it with the decorations to refill last year. If anyone wants the exact wording that was on the tag i can post it on here.
We do this every year which is great fun.
If you go to https://www.organizedchristmas.com/article80.html there is their 'recipe' for this with a link to print of the tags. I think I will do some of these in little bags to give to my kids friends to take home with them on Christmas Eve if we have our usual get together at home!0 -
It was Country Living, and it is a years subscription for £19.99 (instead of £54) - but the company I get it from are offering a few other magazines at this price as well - Cosmo, Harpers etc
The address of the website is https://www.qualitymagazines.co.uk/ha07/cl3
You may have to just enter the address in your browser, or try it a few times instead of clicking through because everytime I try it it says 'This offer is no longer available', which isn't true at all.
Edit: If you do managae to make it work, it says something about multibuy savings, but add the mag you want to the basket and it will come up as £19.99 for a yearWe must all suffer one of two things: the pain of discipline or the pain of regret and disappointment0 -
On my search for Christmas ideas, I found this list of 80 gift basket ideas which I thought was great!
