  • Poor old MOT has been up and down like a yo yo today. Her phone never stopped ringing and she really was finding it all a bit difficult to cope with. Will she stay at the temporary flat or wont she? Can she appeal or can't she? If she does appeal then although she will still get legal aid she will have to make a contribution! Anyway, with regard to the flat, we decided it would be best for her to just get out and not prolong the agony. The few things she has there are being stored by her ex neighbour T, a really kind gentleman. MOT & the twins will be bunking down at a friend's until they can sort more permanent accomodation. It is not ideal but desperate situations need desperate measures. We listened to a very interesting discussion on the Jeremy Vine show on BBC Radio 2 this afternoon all about depression. This was prompted by the British guy who whilst suffering from depression jumped from a window with his children. It was about how there are different types and levels of depression, that it is definitely an 'illness', a 'mental disorder' and how it can make the sufferer do things or not do things that would not/would be expected of someone behaving in the accepted manner. I only hope that certain persons that poo-poo depression as an illness, were also listening to this broadcast . Thank you all for the continued help and support. Loved the poem Groovytigger; thanks.

  • stopping by to give you a virtual hug. Hopefully you are tucked up in bed, nice and warm and enjoying restful sleep. You are def going through the mill and my thoughts are with you. Met my local CAP centre manager for coffee todayand we had a brief chat and prayer over your situation and it seems as though things are changing by the minute. Just remember....somewhere in all of this is something better. Just keep holding on.....love to you all x

This is the first time I have seen this and I am shocked at the way you have been treated. I am no way able to read all the threads on this but I was just wondering whether you would be willing to move away from the area. I was wondering if you tried somewhere like Stevenage, which is not so posh and expensive as the area you live in, whether the council might be more generous to you and might offer you a house. Im saying this because I used to live there and when we were kids our family was evicted twice (due to my dad having an accident and unable to do the job to keep us in tied houses) and we were given a council house in Stevenage. It was a very long time ago so it might not be the same situation now but maybe its worth a try. There are good schools there too. All I can say apart from that, is that I do know how bad you are feeling as it happened to my family twice and there is nothing worse than not being able to house your kids. Please dont let them beat you. Carry on fighting. Good luck.

Good morning everyone and what lovely posts to wake up to - thank you!

I seem to have gone from getting little sleep to sleeping like a log and not being able to wake up! For the first time in many, many months I have to set the alarm to make sure I'm up to get twins up for school.

Just looked around flat and nothing is organised for tomorrow - it all seems to be everywhere:confused:

    Hi K,

Think there are 3 other MSE'rs coming to help along with I-T and friend, I'm more worried about the fact that there are 3 flights of stairs to go down with some awfully heavy things:o

This doesn't matter, mot. That will all come together very easily - BELIEVE ME - and DOES NOT NEED TO BE DONE FIRST THING TODAY
Remember your bossyboots priorities for today as per em - no. 3 IS TOP OF LIST, THEN NO. 2. You may have already done no. 1. THEN you'll know the shape of the rest of your day and can use any 'gap' time to pack a box or bag here and there.
Please do not use your time on this as a top activity today.
You'll have plenty of help around over w/e - we can easily sort these things out.

    Now, do you promise me?
I'm posting this out on thread so lots of people will witness your "YES!"
