    Morning all,

Slept through for just over 8hrs!! There were a couple of times that I woke but was determined to go off again - so yippee:T .

Its another day of chasing agents again. Also spoke to my contact at CAP yesterday to see if he knows of anywhere I could put my belongings when I move out of here - I think it would amount to possibly less than half a garage full. If I can be sure that is sorted then I won't be so worried about moving out. Just need to arrange for some strong men to help. I think that, as the twins are away this weekend, I could actually move out on Saturday and if needs be overlap into Sunday - God, its all so confusing:confused:

Have done the pm's thing you needed - so rest easy there.
Just continue roof-hunting today - that's the priority.
Assume S202 has arrived with FM now?
Hemel Hempstead Gazette is out today - hope some of our Your Say comments/update reach someone who has an idea for helping on house front, too.
Are you on your own in making these efforts today?
Shall ring after school run - okay now? cup of tea en route.
A good tip is to start day with a cup(or more, if you can manage)of warm water. I squeeze a half lemon juice into it, too, if I have it.

    Hi AS,

Yes on my own today and will be chasing up agents. S202 hadn't arrived with solicitor or me yesterday, my post has arrived already and nothing there but it could be delivered by hand.

Will get papers when I go out this morning - they weren't in the shops when I did the school run.

  • Morning MOT, hope today is productive for you.
I've been printing this thread off and reading it offline, trying to avoid the slanging match that has gone on. the main fact is, there is not enough housing to go around and Councils have very little discretion. Everyone hoped that this would work out for the best. One of the main things about this board is that everyone has made mistakes, and this board gives the support. Nobody says, 'well you shouldn't have done that, so tough' its about how you can turn a situation around. That is were the focus has now moved and quite rightlly.
Hopefully there are LL in your area who will take HB - some are happy to do it as at least they know they will get paid. The problem with local authority housing is that a) its in very short supply and very high demand and b) they have rules about children sharing rooms, so can only allocate 3 bedrooms in your case, which is of course the most popular type of property. With a private landlord it may be possible to be more flexible, for example if a bedroom was big enough for the twins to share, with a divider down the middle to give an element of privacy. Even that would be better that you have at the moment.
You need to take a break from the stress. Even for a short time. Promise yourself an hour to just sit, have a cup of coffee, cake, whatever and try to unwind. I know your head must be frazzled but you will be no use to your lovely kids if you go under.
    Chin up
    It will get sorted.

Why thank you kindly, had the thought of baking the magnificent seven a celebration cake when we reach a satisfactory conclusion for MOT but I reckoned you may all politely but firmly decline :D .xxx

I've looked on the school website, they have school buses from loads of places: South Mymms, Barnet, London Colney, Watford, Shenley....and those are just places I've heard of!

Hi MOT, and everyone else - I do hope that today will be a better day, in terms of results, as the clock is ticking by relentlessly.
Have you spoken to SHELTER or CAB in the last few days?
As your situation is fast becoming desperate, I would be surprised if one of the above organisations doesn't provide you with a case worker.

If any of my experiences, or the knowledge that I have gained from those experiences, can help anyone who finds themselves in similar circumstances, then my experiences have not been in vain.
