  • Gggrrrrr @ Bad Mum:mad:

I'm a bad virtual friend, because although I have read you thread over the last 3 months I never posted. I felt helpless and hopeless, so just stood on the sidelines, nothing I could do to help.:o

I now feel anger and outrage at the pen pushers/Jobsworths and egotistical Councillors @ DBC

You on the other hand are a shining example of humanity to us all.:A

Now while fighting this injustice is a honourable cause, in the meantime you need a roof over you head.

Now I have had a bit of luck, I got paid today, 18 days late, but as I am paid in a foreign currency the weakness of the pound this month means I have ended up with more than I expected. As soon as I know where to send it, it's yours. A hollow gesture I know, as it wont cost me anything in effect, but the best gift I could have for my 49th B/Day (tomorrow) is to know I have done something to help for once

  • Oh MOT, I have just caught up & I am devastated for you - i can only echo what others have said.

It is utterly disgusting how this Council have behaved - I hope some of them have read the thread - assuming they have any sort of brain or competence to be able to find it - and they feel ashamed of themselves. Like someone said, how do they sleep at night? And as for the scum landlord, he will get his comeuppance - "what goes around comes around" and I'm sure it will one day.

You know you have the support of many many people and you are most certainly NOT a bad mum - you are incredible (and so is IT!). Your dignity shines through.

I know Martin may not feel able to post but I do hope when he goes onto GMTV that he has a quiet word behind the scenes & lets their news team know what's going on so that they can then pick up on the story. And the national newspapers become aware too. I feel embarrassed to be part of this country sometimes. No wonder people are emigrating in droves.

I simply don't know what else to say MOT, but I will keep up to date with the threads to see what I can do to contribute in some way.

Please listen very carefully I will say this (well shout it) only once - YOU ARE NOT AND COULD NEVER BE A BAD MUM. You have always put your children first and I am sure you always will. Don't be so hard on yourself. The system has failed and let your children and you down, you haven't let anyone down.

Now practically I am of no use to you as I am a few hundred miles away, but support wise I am yet another pair of shoulders you can spread your worries onto.

    Practical issues:

Can you move out on Sunday ?

How much stuff do you have to take with you ?

Can you go into a B & B or hotel for a couple of nights at least ? (Don't worry about the cost I am sure it will be taken care of.)

Can you afford to rent privately ? Assuming that a) there is something available and b) the deposit/bond etc is taken care of ?

How much is your storage costing ? Is there an alternative firm that you can use ?

Is there any scope for money from the Credit Union ?

That's all I can think of at the mo.

I will be thinking about you at the weekend, I am away from tomorrow am until Monday pm, but will catch up then.

Please keep strong and don't let them have another victory by falling apart now. - You can and will get through this with the support of all your friends here.

    Best wishes

    Vanda

I don't think they are allowed to house them separately from you then. A friend of mine at school was made homeless with her mum at 12 and they couldn't separate them.
Will do some digging on that one.

Dear God I wish I could help you. I think you are the most amazing person. Your children must be so proud of you. What kind of a country are we living in for things to come to this? Have you tried your local MP? This situation is horrendous. I have twins of 10 and have experienced hard times and the fear that you must be feeling is one I can relate to.

In a couple of years you will look back on this time and wonder how you came though it - which I am sure you will.

Good luck - you are a very special person.
