  • It's no bother MOT, the offer's genuinely there for you. Like many others I feel so damned useless and unable to help you.

What in God's name have we come to in this country when a well intentioned poster is suggesting to a good but poorly a Mum, that she and her children could call a travel lodge "home" for 3 nights as they have nowhere else to live.

    Shame on DBC.

MOT ...........As it is their appeal panel it may have a tendency to be partisan. There is no way of being sure they are independant, rather than stooges; so do not let their decision making, make you question your parenting capability. There is no connection.

    Take care

    Excellent - thanks, Pania.

I know I post on these MOT-related threads very rarely, but I will PM IT once the nod is given, as I'm sure many will.

I have read all your messages of support and there are a lot that I would like to reply to but my head is spinning, so please forgive me if takes me a while.

I am utterly devestated and shocked by DBC'c decision to not house us, particularly as they had no concern whatsoever of my mental health and in fact the Barrister there told I-T that it wasn't relevant for him to question the H of Hsg about why they had ignored NowMedicals suggestion that they should obtain a psychiatric report:mad: .

In brief, I am waiting for solicitor to call with a reply from DBC's inhouse Barrister (not the one at the appeal) with news of extending our temp accom for a week or so in order that I may find alternative accomodation. If it is a resounding 'no' then we have to be out of here by 12noon on Monday, which actually would have to be Sunday as I-T has work commitments on Monday, friend T also has work on Monday (he has a van) so n:beer: o strong men to move me out and no van. However, it still doesn't help that I would have nowhere to store my belongings until a permanent place is found, I am struggling with the costs of storage for the rest of my furniture as it is!

Slept deeply for most of the night, was awake for a while mulling things over, then overslept almost and had to race to get twins to school this morning.

I am trembling and fuzzy minded and feel that I am a totally useless as a human being and a bad Mum for not being able to get somewhere for the twins to live.

Yes, I am proud but realise that your offers of help are to be accepted as I just cannot manage anymore.

Thank you for reading and for your continued support, you are all :A

Hi this is mot's son adam i do not think my mum is not a bad mother she is just going through a tough time at the mo because of the evil LL and DBC. They have upset mum too much therefore she is a bit down so i ask her if she would like anything to eat or drink

When I posted this I believed that MOT was leaving her current place on Sunday, and would need a bed for the night. Tis was an immediate stop gap that was available to buy her some time. It certainly could be no worse than were she has had to stay since before Christmas and certainly would not need 3 days worth of cleaning to make it habitable (as her temporary accom. did).

  • Me too Pania, thank you - I, like others, feel very helpless at the moment. And angry. But together through the power of MSE things will become more positive.

Am busy having a read through the Children Act 1989 at the moment - you may find s17 useful - that is with regard to Children In Need (not as in the TV programme!) - and you may be able to ask your social worker (if you are still in contact with one?) what he/she can do under that?
