    Hi MOT and everybody else,

I have previously posted on here, but have altered my username so as to retain a bit of annonymity (spelling?!!) as I work in the Housing field in the north and my previous username was a little too obvious!! (MOT i will PM you - probably tomorrow now)

However, I just wanted to say a couple of things, first of all, I waited with baited breath for the decision on Thursday, and was so very shocked that they upheld their original decision, especially with all the representation that you had, and the amount of work that went into your appeal. I really do hope that your solicitor does find a 'point of law' upon which to appeal this decision as I find it wholly ludicrous that they clearly have not taken account of the Legislation as it is written. Particularly with regard to the fatc that they found the 'medical information' irrelevant! This is quite what I said in one of my earlier posts, when I broke down your case, based on the information I had from here and a couple of e-mails from you, the case was quite simple, loss of home resulted from loss of job which was not your fault but was due to incontrollable circumstances, home became unaffordabel and therefore unreasonable to occupy and you were NOT intentionally homeless!

I won't bleet on, as I know lots of us have said all of this before. You, or some others on this forum might want to have a look at, if you havn't already, The Homelessness Code of Guidence for Local Authorities, it is published in PDF Format on the Communities for Local Government website, and may give you some useful information. i am sure that your solicitor will be aware of this anyway.

Also, I notice that you are paying for storage of your belongings, did the council not offer? The Legislation states that a Local Authority has a duty to protect your belongings, most Council's fulfil this duty by arranging for and paying for Removals and Storage of your belongins, for which you are billed a 'contribution' towards upon receipt back of your belongings. If you have not been offered this or something similar then have you not been treated fairly? If you haev not been treated fairly then may I suggest looking into Dacorums complaints procedure and even, maybe a formal complaint to the Local Government Ombudsman?

i know that you have an awful lot on your mind at the moment, I will haev a look into a couple of things for you, probably tomorrow now and will drop you a PM then (it's getting late now, and hubby misses me when I have my headx stuck in the computer!) But I wanted to post as it was all playing on my mind.

Also, pania, what an amazing support you are, you truely are a wonderful person, I-T, you too. And in fact, that goes for everybody on this, and the first thread, including all you lurkers out there who havn't posted yet, but who keep up to date on a regular or irregular basis. The amount of support on here is fantastic.

I will shut up for now, but will be back on here tomorrow!!!

    Take Care!

  • Pania, thanks for taking all this raw emotion, full of anger and wanting to punch anything (meand a few others)) and utter dismay and tears (most of the rest of you!) and harnessing it into something positive and helpful. (Although I'm still voting for getting hold of the council members and punching some sense into them, and if I.T wants to p.m me, we'll sort it out.... lol)
This thread has really restored some of my faith in the human race. So i guess a thank you to the rest of the posters on here too!

    Yes thanks Pania.
After the verdict yesterday I was left feeling angry and frustrated on mot's behalf and had no way to channel all that emotion into anything positive. I wanted to help but it seemed there was no way to do this as i live the other end of the country.I'm sure I was not alone.
Thanks to you taking the time to deal with things:A i have been able to offer a little help. The support from people on this site is phenomenol, dfw is a great community to be a part of.
