Thank you Pania for the quick response – job done! – and as theunknownstuntsman says, you are a star for sorting this out! Lots of good karma coming your way! :D
If I don't respond to your posts, it's probably because you're on my 'Ignore' list.

I too have pm'd you - Your friendship and practicallity that you have shown to MOT and her family is an inspiration to us all. If we each had a friend like you then we would all be truly wealthy.

MOT - you are an inspiration to us all, your determination to not give up. To accept the offer of help from the wonderful MSE's - I bet is one of the toughest decisions you have had to make. Its no wonder your children are obviously so well grounded and loving - having such a mother as you. My mother died when I was 18 she was only 36 at the time she had a hereditary illness and suffered in pain quite a lot, but she never gave up. She was determined that it would not control her - as you are determined to find a solution to all this unpleasantness. I am proud to have read your story and wish you and your family all the best for the future.

    Onward and upward.

Hi MOT have just finished reading your thread and want to pass on big hugs of support, you are not a Cathy, to me you are BOUDICA, she went to war for her children. Cant think of anything constructive that has not already been posted except to say hold on in there girl.
  • i have to say that that inspite of the disgraceful behaviour of dbc and evil LL this thread has restored my faith in human kindness. The way in which people on here have, without hesitation jumped to offer help and support to MOT and the twins in any way they can. Many people on here are in debt themselves and on a tight budget but have still offered to help. It just shows that this board is not just about debt but is a community in itself that looks after each other in times of need. i too will be doing what i can to help and if anyone from dbc or evil LL has managed to find this thread then this is a big 2 finger salute to you beacuse MOT may have taken a knockback but thanks to us on here she is certainly not out, look ouyt for MOT 2: the revenge!!!

  • Hi MOT and everybody else,

I have previously posted on here, but have altered my username so as to retain a bit of annonymity (spelling?!!) as I work in the Housing field in the north and my previous username was a little too obvious!! (MOT i will PM you - probably tomorrow now)

However, I just wanted to say a couple of things, first of all, I waited with baited breath for the decision on Thursday, and was so very shocked that they upheld their original decision, especially with all the representation that you had, and the amount of work that went into your appeal. I really do hope that your solicitor does find a 'point of law' upon which to appeal this decision as I find it wholly ludicrous that they clearly have not taken account of the Legislation as it is written. Particularly with regard to the fatc that they found the 'medical information' irrelevant! This is quite what I said in one of my earlier posts, when I broke down your case, based on the information I had from here and a couple of e-mails from you, the case was quite simple, loss of home resulted from loss of job which was not your fault but was due to incontrollable circumstances, home became unaffordabel and therefore unreasonable to occupy and you were NOT intentionally homeless!

I won't bleet on, as I know lots of us have said all of this before. You, or some others on this forum might want to have a look at, if you havn't already, The Homelessness Code of Guidence for Local Authorities, it is published in PDF Format on the Communities for Local Government website, and may give you some useful information. i am sure that your solicitor will be aware of this anyway.

Also, I notice that you are paying for storage of your belongings, did the council not offer? The Legislation states that a Local Authority has a duty to protect your belongings, most Council's fulfil this duty by arranging for and paying for Removals and Storage of your belongins, for which you are billed a 'contribution' towards upon receipt back of your belongings. If you have not been offered this or something similar then have you not been treated fairly? If you haev not been treated fairly then may I suggest looking into Dacorums complaints procedure and even, maybe a formal complaint to the Local Government Ombudsman?

i know that you have an awful lot on your mind at the moment, I will haev a look into a couple of things for you, probably tomorrow now and will drop you a PM then (it's getting late now, and hubby misses me when I have my headx stuck in the computer!) But I wanted to post as it was all playing on my mind.

Also, pania, what an amazing support you are, you truely are a wonderful person, I-T, you too. And in fact, that goes for everybody on this, and the first thread, including all you lurkers out there who havn't posted yet, but who keep up to date on a regular or irregular basis. The amount of support on here is fantastic.

I will shut up for now, but will be back on here tomorrow!!!

    Take Care!

Just explained your story to DH he is disgusted with what you have been put through. He thinks as I do that you are an amazing person to still be fighting. We are both thinking of you
