I think what some posters are bothered about is that if your supporters really support the cause of homelessness and the injustice of it then why have they not offered one scrap of help to others equally deserving of help...(I don't mean with offers of help to move them or anything) but morally one poor lady was near suicidal the other day and posted about 4 threads and didn't get answers from your friends ...she hasn't posted since..there are plenty of others on there and will be for a long time due to unfortunate debt situations in this country but thats a whole different story...I wish they would give a thought to the others and I know you have done and thats great and amazing as what you are going through you are still giving time to others....I wish you luck in your move...
It isn't nice to think of someone's posts not being seen, but people can't see every post that appears or have an answer for all of them. This forum is primarily about debt not homelessness. Also, some people can only log on for a few minutes a day (for a variety of reasons), & it's natural that if they've been involved in a thread they'll have a quick look maybe even post in that one & then log off.

Even though this is MOT's thread, there's a lot to be learned from it. I've never been actually homeless myself, & what MOT has gone through has given me some idea of the hoops I might have to jump through & the hurdles I might have to jump if I were to unfortunately end up in that situation. As the saying goes, forewarned is forearmed. :)

As you're aware of this woman's posts, perhaps you could either post in her threads to bump them, or provide links (in a new thread, not this one) so that people can be made aware of her. It's good that you & others were around to help her - you did help her, didn't you? :)

to pass on a little of the support I received when my life went a little haywire a few years ago re housing and a young family member. Whilst it didn't compare to yours, I was very glad to receive the support I did, local council notwithstanding.

I now try to pass it on when I can whether it's through words, nail varnish or lugging stuff up and down stairs. I have to say we made a cracking moving team despite our dodgy hips, legs and backs :rotfl:

Got home in plenty of time to watch my CSI and Law and Order too, thanks

PS: Must remember to add that reggae reggae sauce to my shopping order for February!

poorbabe, we have finally met(despite near miss at Station!)and spoken again.
I'm posting to say how terrific it was to meet you and have you stopping mot cleaning THAT place again to a standard it has probably never known.
You are just terrific, as is vivatifosi - I'm glad no Parking Warden had to confront you on Saturday!
It is wonderful to meet supporters from mot's thread who show exactly where their good words and thoughts come from - by being exactly the same in their own daily lives.
    It's been a good, Things-Achieved w/e and I look forward to doing it all again:D a.s.a.p.

[p.s.sasp- did you have a brilliant time? Did The Rock keep you from rushing the stage? Didn't fling anything up thataway, did you?]

    Hi All,

Keys now handed in and all paperwork etc settled. Went to SADC and handed in PTD but forgot to ask about other private landlords - oh bum! Can only seem to remember one thing to do at a time:confused: . Car taken into garage - lovely man, own business and a real gem - he's had a twiddle and a fiddle and whilst its not right it is a little better and going to be looked at properly a week on Thursday - will someone please remind me that car is going into garage on 7th February?????

Now in process of dyeing hair - again.....not orange yet so fingers crossed.

Next task is lunch, washing then by then school.

But I must ring SADC re: private LL's will someone please remind me of that too;)

P.S I'm saying this quietly cos poorbabe will tell me off ;) I went and vacuumed the flat this morning before I handed the keys over!! I was thinking of the next person who goes in there and if she felt anything like I did then it will be awful for her - so at least if it is clean then that is one less thing to upset her.

    Hi MOT
Glad you are well and seem to be coping with all that life throws your way ! Fingers crossed for the houses you were looking at.
LISTS are the only way I can remember to get things done, jot everything down and cross off when done.
    Keep us posted on things
    Take care. X

    Hi MOT,

It was a pleasure to meet you and the "A Team" (or should I say "& Team") this weekend! It's amazing what you can do with a van, some cardboard boxes, tea and sarnies and a smattering of goodwill. Shows we can all do anything if we set our minds to it.

Good luck to you MOT!!! Hope you get what you need soon.
